I confess that once when I was 12 I gave a black man a dirty look on the bus because I thought he looked like someone
I had seen on America's Most Wanted. I was on the lookout for wanted fugitives then; I was obsessed with America's Most Wanted and mystery and solving crime and catching criminals. The guy sitting on the bus across from me started talking to me about how the black people should get out of our country, and insulting them, including two dark women who were sitting beside me. I decided that that man looked more like someone else I'd seen on America's Most Wanted. I intended to call AMW. But then I looked at the pictures in the magazines and realized he looked like a combination of two of them; not like one of them.
