I been having trouble sleeping this week, I been itching alot,having pain, can’t sleep, I been taking Benadryl. I been little depressed. This morning was bad, my upstairs neighbor was making alot of noise, I wanted to scream. Then I went to the bathroom & went back to bed, later, I woke up to my carbon monoxide kept beeping, it was in my bedroom, I was little bit panicked & crying, I texted my neighbor, he came over. My carbon monoxide needs to be replace.

I just found out that there was a mass shooting on the mainland here in Nova Scotia.

The police killed the guy, but what was his motive? Did all the COVID-19 restrictions cause him to snap?

I've been worrying about people breaking into my apartment and killing me just to steal toilet paper and other things. What can I do to stay safe?

Maybe I'll make a small hole in my mattress and hide a knife in there. I hope I never have to use it.

That's only one potential cause, he also might have had some other reason with more direct logic. This wouldn't make it any less morally horrific, but would at least mean it's unlikely to be signifying everyone starting to practice saying Here's Johnny!

It's a good sign we're doing a better job at keeping guns out of the hands of crazies compared to other English-speaking nations on this continent, which is something we get to be smug about far too often to still be smug about. But, it indicates some things can be done to significantly reduce the number of incidents even if it also warns us it might be very difficult to be perfect without bigger societal changes than just laws can cause to occur. Not being able to achieve perfection isn't inherently an argument against trying harder though.

Anyways, why ruin your mattress when you'll be just as safe leaving the knife on top of it, since you almost certainly will not end up needing to retrieve it (but just in case). Nightstand maybe?

The fact that SOME kids are flouting quarantine and then being d**ks/b****es to other people who question their behavior disgusts me.
