I got downvoted into oblivion on my city's subreddit because I asked if the stores that required masks would let me wear my plastic mask or if they only allow the usual cloth/paper ones. Apparently sensory issues don't actually exist and I'm just being dramatic.

I mean this with the kindest of intentions, but it rubs the lotion on it's skin...

(I've never actually seen that movie either, but you can look the scene up on Youtube if you don't get the reference)

What this have to do with me? I know to put lotion or medication on my psoriasis. And I saw the movie The Silence of The Lambs, it was scary.

Talking to my brother.

I love talking to him, but he has some opinions about finance that stress me out. It can be downright terrifying.

Geez I'll have to ask. I think we discussed every country except Austria. It's especially frustrating because as you likely know, I don't understand ANYTHING about politics or economics. I just say "oooh" and "ahhhh" as he rifles off all the statistics of doom and gloom.

Austrian Economics doesn't refer to present day Austria, just the fact that its original proponents like Von Mises and Hayek were from there. It would be regarded as deeply anachronistic and irrelevant by just about all modern economists, though it does in some senses explain the ills of our current situation, but its solutions would not be acceptable to the governments or electorates of 21st Century democratic nations.

But hey, let's just print more money and keep on partying!

The joke was that I was flipping that famous creepy line into genuinely well-meaning advice. Like when South Park parodied Game of Thrones by using Winter Is Coming as a Christmas shopping slogan. I like making jokes that rely on that device.

Whether or not it was a good joke, it was a joke intended for your amusement. I can't score on every shot.

Austrian Economics, the school of thought that insists we need to ignore how policies actually play out in practice and just follow neo-liberalism through to it's final logical conclusion, something largely resembling anarcho-capitalism.

If an-caps are the pro-capitalist equivalent of anarchists, Austrians are more like the capitalist equivalent of Marxists, ideology uber alles.

I don't have a clue what you're saying Deep. Sorry. I'm brain-dead when it comes to politics or those words like neo-anything.

My brother is fiscally conservative. Extremely.

The scary thing is even though I don't understand anything he says, he's almost always right about corruption, government conspiracy or economic scandal.

^ I wouldn't disagree with most of that. As a saver though, I am disenchanted and disquieted by the loose monetary policies of Central Banks in recent years.
