too bad you couldn't have accompanied them in their singing.

Yeah, could have been nice: not that I know any of them!

(They’re on a different street, but the staff/visitor car-park backs onto our garden)

Brictoria and Pepe are the only ones who come to mind but there may be more. Neither particularly care for my ways

I’ve never seen a street party.
Even when I lived in the burbs.
In the summer there used to be street dances by the courthouse. They blocked the street off and played music from the gazebo on the courthouse lawn.People would bring lawn chairs and sit on the lawn and you could use the bathrooms in the courthouse. The drinkers sat on a rock wall by the bank, alcohol had to be in cups and kept hidden.Kids running around everywhere playing. It was nice.
Last one was probably 20 years ago. :(

I've never seen a street party either, though it seems there were plenty of them held in the UK in 1977, and perhaps in 2002.

I last went to one for William and Kate in my sister's street. It was fun, road blocked, cars all parked round the corner to make more room. I made scones. I was working during Harry's so I don't know but I'd be surprised if there hadn't been any.

I remember two from my childhood, one on our street and one on the street over (Kenly, Surrey). There was a big gap in between them and William's though, partly because of the lack of royal weddings, but also, I think, they went out of fashion. They're nice, and relaxing. Yesterdays were not proper road blocked ones, although the one down the coldisack was in the middle of the road.

No street parties here but we were among a few houses in my cul-de-sac that put bunting out the front

What weather too! Bit too hit for me tbh. Been sat in front of a fan reading all day.

A few nice days are fine but I don't like it when it goes on for much longer. Nice bit of rain today, I will go for a walk.

I was just looking at the avatar that I'm currently using. That got me thinking of how much I've changed since the beginning of the whole Coronavirus pandemic. I asked myself how I want to be remembered if I were to die of this disease and my answer was, "As a Kinks Fan."

I believe that the following members are also Australian:

Raleigh, Wallflower Asparagus, The Grand Inquisitor, ImAnAspie, Juliette

Apologies to any of these that I've listed in error.

Not sure why I'm posting this in the UK thread, BTW...

Never met a real Aussie, just a few Kiwis and Brits around here.
