There are five occurrences of the digit "1" on a clock face. Also, there are two "2"s, every other digit appears once. Counting all, there are 15 individual digits, 5 + 2 + 8, eight being the number of digits appearing once. How can it be eight, and not seven? This is because the "0" appears next to one of the "1"s signifying "10". It is noteworthy that this "0" is the only non-stand-alone digit on the clock face.
