i was able to save somebody's evening last night, by pulling them out from a steep ditch when they slid into it.

That's quite heroic

You could have been like the priests and lawyer and merchants in Jesus' parable (of how NOT to be) and ignored their plight, and avoid them by crossing the road.

thank you  some crooked local yocal cop just gave her a ticket for being in the ditch rather than lift a finger to help her out, even though he had a winch on his vehicle. also confiscated her keys, luckily she had spares. that cop will have to answer to a higher power for his negligence and bloodymindedness. it happened right in front of my house so i couldn't have just ignored it. but just the same, i didn't think i had the right equipment to help her, so we both hadda put our two brains together and figure out how to use a come-a-long [ratcheted winch] to pull her out.

Thank goodness you were there to help!!

A ticket for being in a ditch?? Like she chose to be there?

I wish I could imagine the scene.

I can't imagine the feeling nor how it all came together (the brainstorming and rescue). In the cold. Wow.

From google and google images, the device used looks quite unwieldy and complicated. Good thing you had wits to get it all together.

And gumption

Here (in this city only--
as I had a bad experience with a cop trying to accuse my mom falsely when she went into shock from accident, in Oakville. He tried to make it seem like she had lied when she hadnt She was in shock and barely responded to him except for saying it was her fault)
..

we have cops who are so kind. The one man apologized to me for no reason and he was so kind. Same with 2 others. They were all young. Maybe after being in the force for a while people get disgruntled or dishonest .. Depending on their temperament.

My family friends son Is a cop for at least a decade and he is so kind and nice and decent too.
Maybe they are taught in a different way nowadays?

That thing about good vs bad cops..

reminds me of when I called the cops because mt sister hadnt returned n it was about 2 AM abd she hadnt been answering her phone etc. We were so worried thought she had been kidnapped
Called cops
They were so good esp the man seemed so alert n decent n kind.
The lady was but she was convinced my sister went on a date n didnt twll anyone

Then my (extremeky religious n wears Niqab n burka
) aunt visited with my (normal) uncle her husband.
They were Worried about my sister...

Then my sister's Boyfriend messaged me apologizing
Then she called apologizing

Then the cops went to their cinema ro check on them to be sure (policy) but the woman was right. The man was alert ready to dispatch more ppl if ir was a kidnapping
Then my uncle started asking who my sister was dating.

It was so embarrassing

How do you acquire so much knowledge about cars and tools ? They always say to know and be prepared in the books 'Girls Guide to Life' and 'Boys Guide to Life' but i assumed it was just hyperbole. Just to fill up chapters.
