I can't believe I actually did this. I was nervous as hell when I recorded it and yes I was laying on the floor when I did it. Towards the end I just wanted to hurry up and end it lol. I'll probably take this down fairly soon.

I like it, too. :)

People from outside the UK may not be aware of the bad rep that Essex accents have. There's a whole stereotype surrounding them. That's all it is - a stereotype. Yes, there may be a select one or two "Essex girls" (or boys)! who behave in a certain way, but it (obviously) does NOT mean that everyone with an Essex accent fits said stereotype. :roll: There are people like that everywhere.

I believe it's comparable to the stereotype surrounding Southern accents in the US. Until recently, I was not aware that, within the US, people with a cute Southern drawl are sometimes ridiculed or made fun of, and that (some) Americans from other states assume that all the women who talk like that will be bimbos, and all the men who talk that way will be lasso-throwing, slow-witted, gun-toting cowboys living on a ranch. :lol:

Not having lived in the US, I've never been influenced by that stereotype, and personally I think a nice southern accent is to die for. I certainly don't think it makes anyone sound "dumb" or "stupid,"any more than an Essex one does (or any other accent, for that matter). It's not how you pronounce things; it's WHAT YOU SAY that decides whether you sound stupid or not, in my opinion! (which is why I frequently sound extremely stupid). :oops:

I love love LOVE that accent! You could explain to me how you would systematically kill my family, my two dogs, and chop off my head and stuff it into microwave.......and it would still sound as beautiful and intriguing as ever :chin:

All White it's like the deep south here. Though many of the stereotypes are true. Though there are certainly smart southerns out there.

i liked hearing your accent. not that different from a canadian accent, except some words like "house" i am pretty sure we said New Orleans the same way.

After watching some of these videos......I've come to realize that "door knob" is the funniest word EVER. Especially when said with an English or Australian accent. I busted up laughing every time someone said it. Especially @ b9 because he said it a few times. :lol:

i had no idea you were from essex until someone said.and i liked your accent..
& yes i'm totally jealous :lol: dangerously close to essex myself
