Mosquitos and fleas are both ectoparasites. Little things that feed off you from outside. And there are also endoparasites. Things like tape worms that feed off of you from inside.

And ...yes...if there is a god it IS baffling as to why he would create either ectoparasites or endoparasites.

It kinda makes sense that he would create plants to produce life, and herbivores (plant eating animals) to eat the plants, and even to create layers of predatory animals to feed on the herbivores, and or to feed on lesser predators. And for the grand finale he would create fungus to break everything down and return to the soil (for the plants to reuse).

But why parasites?

Why would God invent tape worms, mosqitos, and fleas?
