Last year, my cordless tools died just as I finished a replacing my roof ahead of the snow - I was left with one mostly charged battery, and no charger. This year, I cobbled together a new charger, but the battery didn't seem to reach full charge, although it did well on two more little jobs. Today, I finally re-built one of the battery packs by re-arranging cells from another brand, and noticed that the old battery definitely has a bad cell or two now.
I have had a lot of machines last just long enough for me to finish a job, sometimes against very long odds.
