Don't mind deep questions at all but I have the feeling I kill threads with my answers or my following question, but hey....
My view on religion.... erm, how to keep this a bit short.
No god created men, it's the other way around, I think. Men created god. Out of a need.
I like Xenophanes thoughts on men his anthropomorphic god image. Simple but spot on. (my subj. opinion):
'The Ethiopians say that their gods are flat-nosed and black,
While the Thracians say that theirs have blue eyes and red hair.
Yet if cattle or horses or lions had hands and could draw,
And could sculpture like men, then the horses would draw their gods
Like horses, and cattle like cattle; and each they would shape
Bodies of gods in the likeness, each kind, of their own.'
And religion makes some of us men followers who do not really think for themselves, I think. But hey, this is incendiary stuff and I try to respect believers also. Try not to make it an issue if someone believes in a god or not.
What are u doing right now? (apart from being on WP)
