When I was a baby a babysitter stabbed me with an ink pen leaving a tattoo. Nobody has ever told me the whole story. They're suspiciously forgetful about the whole thing.

QI Fact of the Day

Gerald Rudolph Ford's real name was Leslie Lynch King Jr. He didn't find this out until he was 17, when his real father confronted him in a cafe.

Jim Carrey's Grinch suit is covered in yak hairs, which were dyed green and sewn one by one onto a spandex suit.

Most green in nature comes from chlorophyll, which means "green leaf" in Greek (chloros, "green" + phyllon "leaf").
Chlorophyll has a single magnesium atom at the centre of its molecule that absorbs both high-energy violet light and low-energy red light, making the reflected light appear green.

There is no such thing as a green mammal. Green is a perfectly common colour for birds, reptiles, fish and insects but there are no green mammals at all. Sloths have a greenish tinge but this is only because algae grows on their fur.

This is one case where I wish they didn't try to be so realistic. I always have to look away when I see newly born babies on screen.

Yeah, that's abusive.

My babysitter would flick her cigarette ashes on the carpet and smother the ash with her heel. ......pretty lazy?

Edit: at our house.

1111 is 15 in binary notation, whereby all values can be expressed as a string of 1s and 0s (instead of the 0-9 of decimal notation). This simplicity lends itself to the on-off nature of electronic circuitry; as a result, binary is the basis for all computing languages. Information is converted into binary digits or "bits" (either 1 or 0) collected into 8-bit units or "bytes" each carrying up to 256 values, from 0 to 255 (or 11111111 in binary).

Robocop facts!

A budget of up to a million dollars was given towards the completion of the Robocop suit, making it the most expensive item on the movie set. In total, six Robocop suits were made, three regular, three showing damage.

The suit was attached to the actor Peter Weller in various sections. Weller had to wear a bald cap under the helmet to make it easier to remove.

It took almost 10 months of preparation in order to complete the Robocop suit, by using live casts of Weller as well as 6 foot tall clay models.

Peter Weller had hired a mime specialist called Moni Yakinn to practice the movements of the 'Robo suit'. Originally they had envisioned Robocop to move in a snakelike manner, with many fast, jerky type movements as they believed this would make him a very difficult target for enemy attack. However the suit was far too cumbersome and heavy for this to be a reality, eventually, they decided that it would be better for him to move in a slower fashion so his movements would be more appealing and plausible.

The 'Robo suit' was originally meant to be coloured bright blue, but this produced too much glare for the cameras, so it was re-coloured with a greyish tint for a more metallic look.

The original gun for Robocop was supposed to be a Desert Eagle, but this was deemed too small. It's replacement was a Beretta 93R, which was heavily modified by it's original Gunsmith to include a much larger extended barrel, so it looked bigger in proportion to fit with the size of Robocop's hand.

The gun holster on Robocop's suit was not integrated into the suit itself (obviously because Weller's leg would be in the way, making it impossible). Off-screen technicians would operate the holster on cue by pulling cables that would force the holster open while the gun was placed inside.

Those born blind experience dreams that involve emotion, sound, smell, and touch instead of sight.
