I confess that I, completely oblivious, was reading a book about this guy who thought he was a vampire and the cult that kind of centered around him, and I decided on a whim to look up the case, so that I could see if there were any pictures of the group (as I always visualize these things wrong; I like having set pictures), when I came upon the Wikipedia article that said this:

Are you kidding me? Besides being completely delusional, he was repeatedly described as being charasmatic and a natural leader who was very good at attracting people. Obsession aside (and even that's more self absored than usual), there were absolutely nothing mentioned in there that would even closely match it. There was nothing about sensory issues or being socially awkward or eye contact or anything.

I sincerely hope they didn't try to use the dx to get him out of it. Normally, I don't care, but still, that annoys me.

Just blah.

And funnily enough, he doesn't surprise me; clearly, he's not functioning right, but that happens. The people who followed him so readily were the ones who surprised me.

I confess I am now packing heat in my car in the form of a 34"/30 oz. aluminum baseball bat. After yesterday's incident (Haven->Rants) I feel I must protect myself. I am a pacifist though, so it is difficult to come to terms with what I may have to do in the near future.
