No but she may as well be. She negotiated better than my actual old L bringing conflict to a halt, and even used her skills to get those scammers to give me the file 1 year later, after they repeatedly lied. Amazing at writing and logic. She is an occupational therapist for people in rehab.

I don't want to go back to the hospital, but I'm worried that might be happening soon.

Yet in my new wildness and freedom I almost welcome the bitterness of alienage. For although nepenthe has calmed me, I know always that I am an outsider; a stranger in this century and among those who are still men.

I heard that it has been a progressive and liberal place since the Middle Ages. Because it's on the coast, and the people there have contact with many different ethnic groups through trade and migration.
You are absolutely right. Jeddah means grand Mother because the guy who ruled then loved his grandmother.
Saudi used to be more normal (ironically when they were less advanced).
Bcuz it's a closed society they keep all the stuff to themselves and ppl usually have no idea what goes on
But now it became bad bcuz of ideology of Wahhabism. Which most of my family used to think is fine...because of how deceptive it is..
But now my brother told me it's actually messed up as they now mistranslate a lot of things and have an anti intellectual attitude like a cult.
For example my mom never once saw Abayyahs(black outer robes) being a normal part of Saudi life. Ppl wore all kinds of things out of home as long as it was modest
That was imposed over time by these self styled religious police ..
who have no legal authority originally but somehow nobody questions
Except actual police who ironically are mostly Yemeni in Jeddah (ironic bcuz of current events).
But also some of the most terrorist events were from extremist ppl who are called Khwarij in general by Prophet but these were Saudis...
most scholars believe Iran's. 'Islamic revolution' was also khwarij in nature. Where u ruin everything n become extreme n inhuman n say you are being religious.
Like they literally held Makkah in seige (all those pilgrims from around the world) and demanding the government give them power ...military had to take care of the situation.
The matter was kept quiet. But they were of the extremist mindset that one associates with KSA now
But if anyone is interested google Yasir Qadhi and Khwarij. I attended his detailed seminar on it with actual video footage and all.
But its kind of shocking as it is a major historical event of modern times but most ppl never heard of it

Probably one reason why what you said isn't well-known is because Makkah is off-limits to non-Muslims.
I've known plenty of people of the Islamic faith who are not fanatical, and who get along with people of other faiths.
No but muslims dont know of it either

My sons therapist is currently teaching Torah to an autistic client at his family'srequest. It's interesting bcuz she is learning along the way as she designs his programs and learning tools.
She said the child has to learn different prayers for eating, for example, depending where the item came from (eg wheat, water, ground like a root vegetable, tree)... She said she tried to teach him the bread one but he refused as he was tired of learnibg so she gave him leeway and said the general eating prayer is fine since he is so little.
Its funny because she is Muslim for over a decade maybe 2 decades now... And she said their stuff is harder since God made them the chosen people so maybe standards are higher.
But I got mad because Muslims have it easier and are lazy in everything and just shop.
I told her that. Because this family is going out of their way paying Bridgette for that extra program on top of the childs normal therapy. Even though he is special needs they don't want him to miss out.
And when she was teaching how to do autism teaching n therapy in one country(i think Kuwait) she said the therapists would just make the nonverbal ASD kids lie down on ground n turned off the lights.
if the child got up they would spray him with a water pistol so kids would be trained to just lie down the majority of the time
And either slept or lay there awake till their parents came to pick up.
N the therapists were getting paid very generously but the parents had no idea this was what was actually taking place.
Bridgette had to train n teach them to do the proper way and they gave her a tough time since their way was easy money.
But the kids were never benefiting. I imagine they prob got worse from the frustration.
So my point is one culture is so deeply involved and humanizes ASD so the kid is held to similar standards and at least att1wmpts are made to engage child in learning
While the other mistreating them and parents didnt even bother questioning what the kids are learning or anything that would tip them off as to what a horrible scam it was.

My dog is tired of his dry food but he has a lot of allergies. I'm seeking a new adult kibble with no wheat, corn, soy, flaxseed, beef, duck, kangaroo, lamb, dairy, or pinto beans.
He's allowed chicken, turkey, rabbit, pork, egg, and rice. He's also allowed fish but he's tired of it.
I wish there was a website where you could just click the ingredients you want / don't want, and it would show you the right food.
Yes he gets a lot of home cooked chicken etc., but I still like to give him a kibble.

This whole month is just... Crappy.
You know what? If I have my energy levels right, I'm gonna decide that I won't be giving it away.
I should stop compulsively give out and help others when it is so. I realize this, the unconscious and a light facet side of myself that my ego credits herself for.
I'm just gonna use this energy into helping myself transition to a healthier habits in long terms, than compulsively help someone in some situation in short terms.
People can take the damn care of themselves. I have to take care of myself. I have to learn the self-care of energy accounting if you guys know what I mean.

That was mentioned in Rose Guedes' blogs and video (now goes by 'dreamerqueen' or 'scarlit rose ashcraft' if you want to google) in case you want to read about it from another person's perspective. Personally I always find it very helpful to do that.
She allots 'spoons' (like forks, but for Autism... forks are for chronic illness related stuff)
for tasks, activities... and estimates how many 'spoons' she uses up in which activity.
Because day-to-day energy is finite. Even moreso when our brains invest more into tasks/thinking and the world won't accommodate that... which messes up the whole order of things...maybe in 'the olden days' or farming communities etc, that was more doable, but modern life is a treadmill of varying paces that you have to adjust to...and you can fall off the treadmill easily if you miss a step.
So her way is like trying to regulate her pacing and resting so when she DOES go on the treadmill, she had more attention and energy so she doesn't miss a step as often (and therefore falls off less)... I think I put that correctly? She does a better job.
For spoons, she plans the week accordingly.
If too many energy spoons are used up, she knows to rest (allot a time to) before she reaches the stage where she plunges into a meltdown or shutdown (although those still happen to her --not as bad as before she tried this ---she has chronic illness too)
