Having grown up in Michigan, I was raised on the idea that we should stock our pantry with as much canned and dried foods as we could, anyway. Mom and I even canned veggies straight from the backyard garden. I've carried this over into my adult years. Even before the Virus hit, we had enough goods on-hand to last at least a month -- more, with strict rationing. Also, we're not tossing out any food; we either make just enough for one meal, or we have the leftovers at the next meal. No trips to the grocery store unless absolutely necessary, which won't be for a while.
