cool, thanks Vigilans. quite interesting indeed. :)

QI Fact of the Day

Bob Dylan's real name is Robert Allen Zimmerman. Zimmerman is German for carpenter. For his debut album, "Bob Dylan" (1962) Dylan recorded the song House Carpenter but it was not included on the album and he never sang it again in public.

QI Quote of the Day

"What grows makes no noise."

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.

The album Enter the Chicken by Buckethead [and Friends] was released on the 25th October 2005, which was my 14th birthday!

The fourth track on the album, entitled 'Three Fingers' was used on the soundtrack in the film saw 2.

thanks rabbitears
i know little of buckethead other than he's technically very good with a guitar & he apparently once filled in for 'slash' at a guns 'n' roses gig. would be curious to learn more. not about slash tho lol he's greatly overrated in fudo's opinion.

i can play a little of welcome to buckethead land, though i haven't heard the original :(

I was educated and 'not inconsiderably enlightened' (to channel John Major) by rummaging on YouTube - with rabbitears' guidance.
Dead good stuff!

He didn't just fill in for Slash at a concert, he was one of the full-time guitarists for Guns and Roses in 2004 and on the album Chinese Democracy. He has since left though, which I'm not unhappy about as I'm not really a fan of Guns and Roses.

Also, which version of Welcome to Bucketheadland do you mean? One is on Buckethead's dubut solo album Bucketheadland and the other is on the 2nd Buckethead solo album Giant Robot. They are very similar, apart from the drumbeat and voices (the first is a female voice, the second is a male one.) They have different guitar solos though.

I also think Slash is a bit overated too.

Here is the first one: [officially called Park Theme (Intro - Welcome to Bucketheadland)]

This one's the second one:

(Like I said, very very similar, but I like both versions the same. I think the second one was just meant to be a re-boot.)

I like Paul Gilbert! He's awsome! Especially the albums Silence Followed by a Deafening Roar and Get Out of My Yard. Also his more neo-classical stuff. Never been overly keen on the vocal stuff though.

Here is Three Fingers that I mentioned earlier. Anyone who has seen Saw 2 might recognise it.

ONE OF MY FAVOURITES!! LOVE IT!! :D

By the way, track 2 of Paul Gilbert's album Silence Followed by a Deafening Roar, entitled Eudaimonia Overture, concludes with a full performance of Bach's Prelude in G Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1.
