It was another cold night last night. The temperatures are currently at 25.3 degrees F. But it was very warm a couple days ago and then the storms hit. Tornadoes appeared out of nowhere and ravaged the U.S. It caused at least 40 deaths across the nation. One hit around 25 miles away in Loogootee, Indiana.

Feels like the instant we hit March, winter was gone. I don't like it. I want winter to last longer. We haven't even hit the Spring equinox yet. What gives?

I figured up here in the NE Spring wouldn't intrude into winter so fast, but here it is happening even up here.

Winter is finally over but the storms come next. This week has spawned tornadoes in Indiana. But flooding is also of concern. My rain gauge is full. It holds 7 inches. But we experience more than that. I checked local weather and they indicated a total of around 8 inches during the last 3 or 4 days. But it is still raining and I have significant flood waters going over my driving bridge.

I have a very strong driving bridge. I built it fixing one mistake after another over the past 50 years. But now it is very strong and effective. I have over 300 cubic yards of concrete in the bridge and I also have two very special pipes. These pipes are 3 feet wide and 25 feet long. They will pass a lot of water. They are a very well constructed pipe because they are a dual pipe, two pipes built into one. They have ridges on the outside and are straight on the inside.

I have two of these pipes and they are each 36 inch wide. And it is covered in concrete. It is a fantastic pipe and now it is moving a tremendous amount of rainfall.

So we picked up another 2 inches of rainfall. That brings our total to around 10 inches of rain. But now the rainfall is dying down. My driveway is no longer flooded so I can get out. We went to town this morning. Life is returning back to normal.
