I had dreams I was in a place called "stingapore" where I was in a supermarket and accidentally dropped a receipt upon the ground, and a cop grabbed me and dragged me to the jail and told me to either folk over a thousand dollars in fines [for littering], or get 5 strokes of the cane- I hadn't the money so they dragged me to the jailhouse and stripped me and flayed my bare flesh with a giant cane and I went unconscious from the pain. next thing I knew [in the dream] was I was recovering in the jail medical ward along with some other cane-ees also recovering from their ordeal, and when we recovered we were all kicked out of the country.

Wow.Some intense dreams.
Sometimes I have really boring ones.I was once a fly watching people eat pot roast and they were talking about their daily business.
Another dream was a Star Trek one, something like the blob was loose on the ship and squeezing under the doors. It was a fun dream.very entertaining, like a new episode.
Another recurring dream is being in a library,I like this dream,I can smell the books and I know it will be quiet and I can read, sometimes I'm back in school in these dreams.

lucky you :) those sound like happy fun dreams. wish I had more like 'em. :? I dreamt before not that I was a fly but that I was trapped inside of a fly's wing.

it wasn't unpleasant, everything was in slow motion and there didn't seem to be too much motion on my end of the wing near the torso. it was like the wing moved but I sorta floated inside of it in between the veins.

I just remembered a dream I had -I can't remember when- where I read about writer's block -and artist's block- on Wiki, and being very upset because it said that such problems are actually permanent and that I would never be able to come up with a good story or artwork again! I guess that could always be a possibility in real life, but most people get over their creative dry spells I'm sure. But in my dream they made it sound like I may as well kiss two of my biggest reasons for living goodbye.

Do you have chronic physical pain? That might explain that kind of dream. In real life you're in physical pain so your mind weaves a story around it to keep you asleep.

yup, decades-long back problems, my back is shot and the rest of me is not far behind being shot. presently it is sciatica which in my case needs back surgery. ach. sciatica literally is a PITA.

Sorry to hear all of that.

A friend has had dreams like that, and he has alot of chronic physical pain.

He also likes violent movies- one long fight scene for two and a half hours type of movies. Movies that stress me out ot watch, but seem to relax him. Sometimes wonder if watching Uma Thurman give and recieve karate kicks nonstop for three hours unconsciously makes his own physical pain entertaining.

I wince when I see violence of any kind, faux or actual. I don't dig any pain.

Last night I dreamed that Tommy Pickles from All Grown Up, the spinoff from Rugrats where the babies are now preteens, (I've never watched All Grown Up, just Rugrats, but I heard once that AGU was stupid and that the characters were actually smarter as babies), and that Tommy had a pet cat who had run away because he gave it a name that was not very nice, or G-rated "Really Huge A** Cat", or something. He's in a field, calling the cat by that name (well, they did get away with Dr. "Lipschitz" in Rugrats), but then the cat sends him a kind of puzzle that was like one in a video game I saw before going to bed, where Tommy has to translate symbols (cat language?") to form a message, and it says to stop calling the cat that name. So Tommy starts calling out for "Really Huge That-word Cat".

I had a neural garbage dump dream, almost literally. I was in this 3-story college dormitory, I wandered around walking down hallways and staircases, back and forth. all the walls were salmon/maize-colored [a feature of every dream] and the lighting was all indirect and it was night outdoors. in a quasi-vestibule near the front door, was a narrow spot with bookracks containing computer-printed periodicals, I glanced through one, vaguely I remember it was about musical academia, there were other young folks here and there chatting about college stuff. i then went back upstairs to my dorm section and found an old army bully who chased me outside into the night, and i ran towards the parking lot and got in my car but army bully and his minions threw bombs at me and shot at me. i returned to the dorm via a back route, wandered around some more and ended up in a gymnasium where there were these giant basketball players who seemed like they were 10 feet tall, bouncing balls off of the wall above the bleachers. then i wandered back to the first floor vestibule listening to various students gab about this and that. then i bid them adieu and walked out the door, they told me goodbye and mentioned my waking name. then with a start i realized i had no shoes on so i ran back inside and went upstairs to my assigned dorm area, reached up on a shelf and found 4 pair of my shoes [ones i actually wear in waking life but in perfect condition] and tried to get back outside but got lost in a warren of different cafeterias, all of which were busy/full of people eating. i wandered down another hallway to a lavatory, intending to find an elevator but got distracted by some elderly women at the lavatories, finally ran to an elevator which i first thought had people in it holding the door open for me but when i got inside it was empty. the doors closed rapidly and i looked at the control panel and found only mysterious symbols. i pushed the one i thought was the ground floor but instead the elevator took me up and down repeatedly, between various levels of sub basement before letting me out on the back ground floor where there was some kind of depot with automated supply trains, and i found myself on one of those supply trains riding on top of a garbage train headed for a large garbage receptacle, but i hopped off before reaching it. one of the employees saw me and said words to the effect "that elevator sometimes does that" and pointed me to the back door. i got outside and it was gray and drizzly and cold. then i wandered into a warehouse with a bunch of old books and phonograph records and photographs in boxes upon boxes, one of the employees was playing around on a conveyer belt, stuffing herself inside a large box but it fell off the belt and made a big mess. then i awoke.

had the strangest dream of driving a hot rod truck along a hilly swervy country dirt road at impossible speeds, and then having to brake in a hurry because the car in front of me sinks into a sinkhole and gets swallowed by a flood of water coming out of nowhere. the driver gets out and swims to the surface. then suddenly a garage is built over the scene and the water is evacuated, the car lifted out and then I am waiting in that garage [with two garage doors] listening with a few other people, we are waiting for the garage to be filled with water for some reason, meanwhile we are listening to the sound of a water fall coming from a tinny speaker in the middle of the garage floor. then I find myself driving to a motel in town, I am in the motel room disrobing, sitting on the bed, then I get a phone call with the sound coming through the wall behind the bed, it says for me to come to work, and I laboriously dress only I put on pants that don't fit, they are too short, so I take them off and can't decide on black corduroy or gray jeans, then suddenly there is another male and female in the room and they too are disrobing. then a doctor shows up and tells me I need to reposition my belt so some weird medical device I'm wearing is placed properly. then I awake.

A couple of nights ago I dreamed that Peter Parker/ Spiderman's wife Mary Jane fell in love with a big, ugly black beetle-type bug that also crawled on walls and ceilings, and she even let it sleep in their bed. Peter then flew into a jealous rage and crushed the bug to death under his foot.

a really weird one- i dreamt i was railroaded into jail on trumped-up charges of assault, given 15 years in a kangaroo court and bundled off to prison so fast i couldn't even contact my sister for help. in the dream various thoughts were swirling through my head, would I be able to get out early for good behavior? i was wondering what she would think of me being missing and if she would know i was in prison, how would i contact her and tell her this. i was trying to figure out what to do, and somehow noticed that they hadn't confiscated my wallet with a lot of money and ID cards and such in it. i was in the prison lavatory sitting on a bench when some toughs came in, saw me and demanded my wallet, i refused and they stabbed me in the chest. the next thing i knew i was in the prison infirmary minus wallet and recovering from almost bleeding to death. after i recovered i was in the prison exercise yard when a big prison guard came up to me and yelled at me for being where i wasn't supposed to be [i had wandered around inside the administration section of the prison somehow] and a voice from an overhead bullhorn told the guard to strip search me. so i dutifully stripped and raised my hands over my head, the guard gently led me to a table and had me sit down where instead of searching me he massaged me. i thought in the dream that i could feel the guard's loneliness in his hands. then the next thing i knew i was in the prison mess hall eating the best food i had ever eaten in my life. then i was in a therapy pool with some other people i had known in my waking life in decades past, when a close acquaintance of the present day walked in and stepped into the pool. various other people walked into and out of the therapy pool room, people i'd known in real life. i visited the acquaintance in her cell and we exchanged notes, she was chatting with another person she knew in another cell across the hall, when all of a sudden some lawyers came and got me out of there. before i left i told my acquaintance i would find a way to get her out. i told her i would move in next to the prison and visit with her until we got this fixed. then i awoke.
