Thanks! I realise I hadn't seen him in a dream for quite some time, so it did seem extra special. It used to be so commonplace that I dreamed of him every night and got used to it. He never quite seemed "gone" because he wasn't.
It was so nice to see his blue eyes in this dream. I think I had the dream because I commented on a post yesterday about the fact I have light blue eyes. His eyes were the same and it was so nice to look into them again. Everyone was so happy. Even my mother was so giddy she was giggling.
i think that was at least a semi-lucid dream. you have some control over it.

i dreamt i was with my mom and dad somewhere in some other reality in the earthly present [another dimension?] and we were in what appeared to be a breakroom with white walls, flooring and tables. i was sitting across from my mom, dad was off to the side someplace, the table was laden with various pescetarian foodstuffs, and my mom had me go outside and wash off some big sloppy fish with floppy tentacles on the bottom, that had gotten "kohmee" [japanese for rubbishy stuff] all over it, and i had the fish on a large wash basin with a drain in the middle, and was spraying it with a shower nozzle whose water pressure was insufficient so i kept having to squirt it for an interminable period until it was finally clean enough to cook. then i brought it inside where my mom told me to stick it in the microwave oven, which i did, at which point i awoke.

At first, it started to sound a bit like the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey
I seem to recall that most of your dreams which involve water also involve your mother. I remember you having dreams about showers or hoses before, and your mother always appears. I wonder how that's connected.

I think that I had my first nano-dream this morning.
Not a really short dream, but a dream about nano-technology.
In the dream, I was a nano-technology researcher giving a presentation at a conference about the first patient in a trial for my new cancer treatment. I explained how the patient would breathe in hundreds of millions of the little anti-cancer nano-bots which would then be picked up by red blood cells and carried to various cells. Somehow (my dream didn't explain how this worked) they would activate if it was a cancer cell and begin slicing up certain organelles of the cell. If not a cancer cell, nothing happened. Then when the treatment was to end, the patient would breathe in another nano-bot that would act to shut down any of the first nano-bots that they came in contact with and would recombine to form harmless waste products that would be dispensed from the cell naturally.
In the dream, the patient was someone with terminal lung cancer who looked about as bad as one can imagine someone might look with lung cancer. After the treatment, they were thought to be cancer free, but they still looked like crap. Obviously, nano-technology has its limits.

water is feminine and also related to mothers as a dream symbol. i don't see any rhyme nor reason as to the timing of my late mother's "visits" into my dreams. wish i knew more other than the water=mother linkage.

if there is one constant in my dreams, it is interior schemes that are either all-white, or salmon-colored everything. the latter make me think of the womb.

I had a dream this morning that was closely tied to an event from about 27 or 28 years ago.
About three am one morning about 27 or 28 years ago, I was rollerblading in a parking garage when a car entered the parking garage. At that time of the morning, it was rare to see one go up past the first level because there were so many convenient parking spots. I ducked behind a pillar as it went by me since I assumed that it was security and that they would chase me out. I then exited the parking garage and skated on the street outside. A few minutes later, the car came back down and stopped behind mine which I could see from the street. When I skated past on the street, the car left.
I found out that the next day that the people in the car had broken into the car of a friend of mine on the top floor of the parking garage and stolen his car radio. Obviously, the only thing that saved my car radio was that I spooked them as I skated by. I talked to the parking security after that and they told me that I was free to rollerblade in the parking garage any time after hours that I wish.
So in my dream this morning, I dreamed that I was up on the top level of the parking garage and saw the thieves steal the radio from the friend of mine's car. In the dream, I was armed and shot them both and they were found dead the next day after someone looked out of his window from the office building.
I had a long dream about one of our members. I was with this person trying to help and support them through several challenging situations. It was really emotional and complex, and I woke almost in tears.
I can't say much more but it felt very real. I'll message them about it.

Interesting.
As Blabby said "God bless you".
Years ago I had a similar but near opposite dream.
A certain WP person appeared in a dream. I observed this person from afar. They acted in a way that seemed out of character from how they seem on WP, except I could see how this person could tap into parts of their personality to act the way I observed. When I awoke I realized that the dream was really about a certain situation in my own life that I was gearing up to deal with. So this WP person was sort of being my "role model" to "assume a virtue if you have it not" even if its only temporary.

That's fascinating! I'm always amazed how our minds work, especially during sleep. I'm still feeling emotional from that dream I had. The feeling didn't fade yet.

I had a dream this morning that I was living in a city and acquired some special grass for the lawn. (Here, I have no lawn.)
When watered, the grass would automatically adjust its' height to that of the neighboring blades of grass. So when you wanted to mow it, you would get a scissors and carefully cut one blade of grass to the height you wanted and then turn on the water. In half an hour, all the grass would have trimmed the excess and be the same height as the one you cut.
Part 1)
I had been in a hotel that had decorative collector plates on a sideboard buffet. The plates in my room were missing so I sent for my (real life) Beatrix Potter tea plates in their stead. I had them displayed. I left the hotel but realised that I had forgotten my own plates. I went back and the management didn't remember me. They said I'd never been there and that they didn't have plate displays, or my personal plates. I ended up in a little room with a few sleeping business travellers who were waiting for taxis. I stood and made a courtroom type speech which engaged them all most enthusiastically, presenting the case of why my plates were stolen.
Part 2)
I was a teenager and I was dating a young black man. I told him I was pregnant with a boy. My mother came in and said that my doctor's sister had been in a car crash and lived for "four minutes". That diverted the pregnancy story.
Part 3)
I was at some type of event with yet another boyfriend. He was working at the event managing a large crowd. I think it was something like a stand-up comedy show. I thought I'd get to watch the event with him when it started but there was a rush of people and then he told me I'd have to watch the show alone because he was busy working in a different room. I was very self-conscious to watch the show alone so I walked out, crying.
Part 4)
I was carrying my belongings (presumably from Part 3) (not my plates), and trying to get to my car. It was parked down a really long dark road. I was carrying wellies, flip flops, glittery shoes, and a large shoulder bag. I kept dropping everything and not noticing until I was quite a distance past. Then I'd have to walk back and get my things. I finally put the flip flops inside the wellies so I wouldn't drop them. The road was really long and it felt like I was walking in quicksand. It was very hard to take a step. I would see my car "almost" in front of me and then realise I had passed it and had to turn back in the quicksand to retrace my steps. I would walk back and forth but keep missing my car even if I was staring at it with every step. Finally, I looked and couldn't find my car parked anywhere on that road. My car had been stolen. That's when I finally started to cry about my stolen Beatrix Potter plates, and my doctor's dead sister.
