Thought I might have a chance at getting an apartment sometime in the not-too-distant future, but according to reviews, I can only do that if I can tolerate heat/AC not working, maintenance people flat-out telling me they don't get paid enough to do necessary repair work, and basically being treated like a piece of freshly-chewed gum the manager has trodden upon from the moment I sign anything :(

Online reviews are both useful and problematic. Sometimes I stop considering something due to bad reviews like you described, if I have other options. I also have to remind myself that people have a tendency to only review things when they are upset. Perhaps you could talk to the landlord about your concerns? You could request additional language be added to the contact that ensures the maintenance concerns will be addressed to meet standard living requirements.

Yeah, my mom told me at first that the reviews were pretty much par for the course, but then as I continued agreed that it probably wasn't the best choice. I did some more looking around and found a place that actually has mostly good reviews from what I saw, it's a bit more expensive but looks to be well worth it. Now I just need to wait another couple of weeks for a PET scan to see if I'm going to be in a physical condition to be seriously looking at moving in any time soon.

^ That's good that you found a better option. I hope the results of your PET scan are favorable :) .

I'm actually getting kind of bored of songs about:

Straight romance and straight crushes and straight sex etc
Coming out
Homophobia

Could just do with a song which is either not about love or just a regular song about a guy loving a guy or breaking up with a guy etc. Like the straight songs just gay.

I know a few I may recall. Except they're all not in English.

I think I want another snake, something rear fanged venomous but something that feeds on frozen rodents, seems most I've seen feed only on amphibians and lizards.

Americans always seem to think 'fish and chips at pub' is a typical British experience.

It's not.

They keep putting 'fish and chips at English pub' down on list challenges as a typical experience they've had.

They should try chippies instead when they visit. That's where locals tend to get fish and chips.

Fish and chips in pubs don't even have proper chips.

I wish some aspie cis men would stop telling aspie women and other afab aspies to wear makeup.

Try it yourself first.

It's incredibly sticky and uncomfortable. Try going a day with it. Try putting on mascara and false eyelashes. Painful, right? If you do that? Good for you, but you shouldn't impose that pain and discomfort on others.

NT society encourages it through a mix of NTs not really feeling things very strongly and the ridiculous notion that 'no pain, no gain' or that beauty has to be painful.

I mean good for the aspie women (and on twitter seems like other afab aspies...) who do wear it. Their choice. But it shouldn't be pressurised.

Believe me, every afab aspie has already been told 'you would look older/prettier/more professional/younger with makeup on' over and over by society.

If I hadn't had a lie in from that dream about Sims 4 I might actually want to download Sims 4.

Nice to know that's the option anyway.

I've been writing again, and the chunk of the story I want to work on this afternoon is dialogue heavy. I don't like a lot of dialogue. Ive been thinking about that, how I want to work it, if I even want it to be conversation or lean more towards a narrator explaining the conversation. right now that little part of story is on my mind.
