Last night I dreamed that I had a tablet that worked like a portable X-Ray that could show the inside of any part of my body. I would place it on my stomach and it would show my digestive system at work, and on my chest it would show my heart and lungs. It wasn't really graphic, mainly just fuzzy B&W images. Are portable DIY X-Rays something of the future perhaps, or would the radiation make it too dangerous?

from what have read, vidisco makes battery-operated backpack x-ray designs that are used at airports and shipping depots. the closest that we have that can take moving pictures are experimental portable ultrasound machines that are a bit larger than spock's tricorder that exist now. those provide somewhat fuzzy monochrome imaging of one's innards at work. in the relatively near future we may have truly portable flea-powered devices the size of a tricorder, that can take moving x-ray pictures-

i was in the garage of my parents' old house, and it was improbably large enough to have a camper van parked in it as well as a sports car that kept morphing between cardinal red and snow white. my mom [as she was a few decades ago] opened the garage door and came out to get something out of the freezer, then went back inside. my task in the dream was to wash the car and vacuum the interior at the same time, somehow. i was worried about vacuuming the interior of the car while the exterior was still wet, and one of the two vacuums i was using fell open and i could see there was water inside of it, so i opened the other one but before i could see if it was wet inside, i awoke.

well it involved Ladytron, some friends from 9th grade, Guinness World Records, running upstairs to avoid catching the eye of the heavy from TF2, sweeping and brooms, and some space-age high tech machine with metallic arms and needles and platforms set in a pitch black room.

Is seeing snakes in your dream always supposed to be something about sex -more specifically, a negative view of a man's anatomy? I really kind of hope not. Last night I had a dream that I was downtown with my mother and I was making a pizza. I had sauce and dough but no cheese or other toppings, so I went somewhere to get some. When I got back, my mother is standing beneath a tree and then suddenly this enormous boa constrictor just drops out and nearly lands on her and she starts screaming. I was really scared she was going to get constricted to death and I kept saying to her, "stay calm, don't move" and I think I got the snake to just leave and slither away peacefully. I decided maybe it wasn't hungry at the moment. Pretty freaky.

I had me a strange dream about watching a movie named "juno" [not the hit movie about the couple] about a man watching a movie of his life flashing before his eyes in a few moments, while his family lives around him. they notice him in his reverie in the movie which is also real life, but are a bit lackadaisical. strange.

my dream went all over the place, and here is what did not evaporate upon waking- i was in my old hospital workplace, the doctor's workroom, when i met a doctor who was on the phone with my own personal physician, and i listened in on the line through another telephone- they were talking about how in january i had a bad cough and were wondering if i had a fever as well, and since i had recently injured myself if it was wise that i get a gamma globulin shot just in case. i interrupted their conversation to tell them i was not injured nor did i have a fever. then my doctor hung up and the work doctor started grabbed a blue insulated coffee thermos that was emblazoned with facts about Nostradamus, and started talking to me about him, asking me what i knew about his work as a physician. i told him i knew a little from reading and watching documentaries and such, and he interrupted me to tell me to take this oral thermometer in my mouth for some reason, so i did, only before it could get my temperature the oral part broke off in my mouth so i gave it back to him and he gave me another, and told me not to bite so hard, so off i went into another room which looked like a kid's bedroom and then i lied down on a kid's bed to relax a bit while the thermometer did its thing, then two little girls came into the room, appeared to be sisters, and i got up, noticed i was naked, thanked god the girls didn't notice, i wrapped a blanket around me and went back in to see the doctor, and the workroom changed into a covered porch outside with a grassy lawn outdoors and it was night time, and there was this clothesline in the middle of the room and the doctor was busy trying to catch pesky flying insects, he chased one outside with an improvised swatter made out of some flexible obstetrical tool, and the bug he chased outside did a 180 and zoomed back indoors where it hit me in the neck and then flew off, and at that point i noticed a large spider web in the clothesline with some wriggling little wormy creature with wings trapped in it, and this spider with a noose for front limbs crept towards the trapped creature and put its noose around it and got ready to strangle it, and the two sisters distracted me a bit with their conversation as they saw it too, and i looked back up and the spider grew to the size of a frog and the wriggling winged worm turned into a flying furry lemur, and its tail was stuck in the noose and getting squeezed, and it was yelping in pain, and the two sisters were arguing over whether to save it from its fate, with the younger sister saying "we must not interfere with the natural order of things." then i awoke. :o

dreamt i had arrived somehow at some kind of quasi-military camp, i was a new recruit, and to get to my reception station where i was to fill out my paperwork and such, we have to cross through a mess hall area that was stuffed with existing recruits eating and yacking away at round tables. i had to jump up on one table because all the recruits had their suitcases all over the floor preventing my progress to my station. in the process i accidentally kicked one of the recruits in the shoulder and this made him angry and he grabbed me, and told me i had to pay for that, so i told him to go ahead and hit me then, and he gently punched my arm, then he took a look at a bag i was carrying with my food in it, grabbed a bottle of ketchup and threw it in the trash, and i pushed passed him and retrieved it from the trash muttering "i will not tolerate people throwing my food away!" then i went over to my station and was greeted by a burly sergeant who pointed to a wheelbarrow and told me my box of stuff was too big, my supplies had to fit at a point under the wheelbarrow and pointed me to a table piled with tiny little black knapsacks that i had to keep all my stuff in, he told me i had too much stuff. and i protested with him that all that would fit in those knapsacks was barely enough to see me through the training, and he said it didn't matter, you don't need anything at all. then i awoke.

Lately I've been having this recurring dream where I have an unknown heavy object sitting on my chest. I can't move my arms to get the object off. I seem to be paralysed, can't even cry out. All I can do is lie there and observe the crushing pressure and know I'm going to die.
When I wake I fling myself upright, just like the end of the nightmare scene they always have in the movies.
It reminds me of a painting I saw in an art book where a demon is sitting on a woman's chest as she sleeps. I think the artwork might actually have been called 'the Nightmare'.
I can't sleep now. Someone please make this dream go away.

I do feel trapped by changes happening in my job. I've been on holidays but I have to go back tomorrow. Tomorrow I find out if I'm being transferred out or not.

I've worked at my current location for twelve years. I can't even comprehend a new environment. I feel like if my name comes up for transfer I'll just have to quit.

I can go back to my former position, where I do the exact same job I'm doing now except at a lower pay grade.
Oh - and that will make someone else unemployed.
