unusual dream where somebody who looked like emma thompson when she was in her 20s, and me were arguing over the terms of a divorce. i caught her cheating with another man, and she thought i was being unreasonable to keep her just for myself, i reminded her of the marriage vows she volunteered for, and that was the only time she got angry, reddening and scowling at me. she was gorgeous and i was resigned to not being able to trust her again, it was a cold feeling, my dream prolly saved me from the real life heartache i experienced.

I've known for some time that I start dreaming very easily.

Years ago, I went for a period of about ten years sleeping about two hours a night. There were two notably things about that ten years: 1) I would go from asleep to fully awake instantly, and 2) I rarely ever dreamed -- maybe once or twice a year.

I think that I dream much more now that I get more normal amounts of sleep.

This morning, I woke up from a dream and looked at the clock. I didn't need to get up yet so I closed my eyes and went back to sleep and started dreaming again almost immediately. The dream was similar to before but not quite the same. (I don't remember the actual dream at all.) I woke back up and looked at the clock and it was only a few minutes later. I had been dreaming the entire time I was asleep in that period. This happened a couple more times over the next couple of hours. Every time that I went back to sleep, I was dreaming almost immediately. One of the times I woke up, I picked up my cell phone and checked the coronavirus news before going back to sleep. Another time I leaned up and looked out the window. Both times, I was dreaming pretty much immediately after falling back asleep.

In other words, I was dreaming, but not in any kind of deep sleep. I wonder if this is part of the reason I can remember many of my dreams. My sister tells me that it is very rare for her to remember anything about her dreams.

Does anyone else dream in this manner?

In real life, my paternal grandfather disappeared for eight years when I was a child. My grandparents' home was eventually demolished and my grandmother moved to a newer little cottage not far away. She was there only briefly until she died from self-neglect and a broken heart.

In my dream I was my current age, and I was living in my grandmother's house on my own. The room which used to be her kitchen where we drank tea, was now my bedroom. I had the bedroom set up very comfortably. In the dream I was searching the internet for a work-from-home opportunity and I discovered there was a job listed in my bedroom! In my grandmother's former kitchen! The bedroom was going to become a shop of some sort and they (whoever?) wanted to hire a person to work in the shop. There were pictures of my grandmother's house and her address and even my little bedroom in her old kitchen. I could even see my bed and my laptop in the advert. I was really shocked because I didn't know work-from-home meant that an anonymous business could move into your personal living space. I was trying to convince myself it would be a great opportunity to just roll out of bed and be at work in the shop, but part of me realised there would be random customers walking around in my space, and I'd lose privacy.

I wanted to ask my grandmother what to do but remembered she was dead.

^^^Izzy, that is a very sad dream. :(

i dreamt i was wandering drunk around the neighborhood i grew up in, a rural place. i somehow had broken into a distant neighbor's 707 jet aircraft parked in a grassy straw-strewn field behind his property, i was dressed in my bathrobe, and lounging in the burnt orange barcalounger he'd installed replacing a row of passenger seats. it turned out that a hidden camera took pics of me, and when i wandered back home and sobered up, he paid me a visit while i was out in the yard doing push-ups, he was quietly irate, and showed me the pics, asked me what the hell i thought i was doing, i told him that could not be me in those pics as i was wearing a bathrobe [i was in exercise clothing doing push-ups on the grass], and he was fixing to get violent with me before i awoke.

Last night, I couldn't sleep. No thanks to my nose refusing me to let me sleep for over a week now, literally thrown my biological clock into sleeping at day and waking up at high noon.

So I went and sleep elsewhere, by stealing my sister's bed, with all the intent to relax at bed around 3:30am. Practically meditated at bed, taking in every bit of sensation in me.
I lost my sense of time and space.

I just had few false awakenings.
The room and everything is grayed out and black and white, yet with few subtle differences mainly aesthetic. In real physical life? I was just being lazy, and hearing my mom awake downstairs.

Whenever I stand up, I kept closing my eyes yet kept seeing through my eyelids. Why? I want to keep it up and not wake up. I tried to go to the other room, with my hands keeping my eyelids from moving.
Nevermind that I forgot that I also need glasses.

This weird feeling that there's this black cat, with a habit of hiding under the bed. I tried to scare it off by banging my hand on the bed, only to find that I woke up briefly and everything feels heavy. Went back to sleep after that.

Then the designs on the wall was replaced by some writings. Don't know what it was there, but the font is sharp and angry-like, yet big and neat.
Not sure how, but I ended up playing some turn based JRPG of some kind, likely made from an RPG maker. I recalled playing it, starting with some party walking in some forest. Plot says there was this ambush, with this sudden switching into a weaker character, kinda playing badly and had to run away.

At some time, my imagination had a little run. With an image of a dark faced girl in a white dress under a black dead tree with red backgrounds; though the image itself looked more like a Halloween fan art. Thought it was some witch. For a second I thought something visited the room.

And then I woke up.
It was 5:45am.

i had another strange dream where i was with my sister, i somehow had telekinetic ability, i'd stare at some thing on my puter without laying a hand on it, and the screen display would change, i showed it to my sister and she was amazed, next thing i knew i was in somebody's living room and making his stereo do different things in term of music playing, and i'd make instruments that were on the left pop up on the right speaker, make soloists disappear and reappear at will, then i wowed 'em by demonstrating that no sound was actually coming from the speakers, i put the sounds directly into their heads. strange.

I had a dream this morning about going fishing.

Someone else and I were fishing (it wasn't at all clear who it was -- just somebody) and we caught a whole lot of fish. We kept them alive in large buckets. He said that we should take them to his house and we did. When we got to his house, the inside of the house was a couple feet deep in water and he poured the buckets of fish into the water. I wondered why it didn't flow outside at all since it was dry outside. I walked in and looked and there were fish swimming everywhere. Not just the fish we caught, or even just fish that we could catch around here, there were fish of all sizes (up to several feet long) and a great many brilliant colors. Many fish were so large that they couldn't submerge completely in the water and no matter what they did, their fins stuck out above the surface. And they were all constantly swimming. I slipped in the water and fell down and just sat there in the water and just watched them swim back and forth in complete amazement.

This was a very unique dream for me. Many of my dreams are similar in themes to other dreams I have had, but I had never had a dream like this one. Also, with all the colors of fish swimming back and forth, it may have been the most brilliantly colored dream that I have ever experienced.

a mishmash involving being late for work, being late for formation in the military, missing the bus, being in the wrong place at the right time and the right place at the wrong time.

I thought all dreams were mishmashes.

By the way (and a little off topic), are you familiar with Michmash?

Instead of typing it out by hand, here is from Wikipedia about using the Bible as a source of modern military intelligence:
Quote:
During World War I, British forces under the command of General Allenby were to face the Turks at the same location. Major Vivian Gilbert of the British army relates the story of an unnamed brigade major who was reading his Bible while contemplating the situation against the Ottoman forces. The brigade major remembered a town by the name of Michmash mentioned somewhere in the Bible. He found the verses, and discovered that there was a secret path around the town. He woke the brigadier general, and they found that the path still existed and was very lightly guarded. The British forces used this path to outmanoeuver the Ottomans, and so took the town.

I was in a hair salon at a new-age place where I was on a massage table. The stylist was also doing Swedish massage on my back and elevating the bed at different angles so that I could achieve Zen. :P Halfway through I can't remember what happened, but for some reason I walked out and went to a different hair salon nearby. I think the stylist asked me to? At the second place they pampered me as well. When they finished my hair I realised they had put tight cornrows all over my head, and it pulled my hair up really short. I couldn't tolerate the little beads and knots for sensory reasons and I was yelling at them to get the cornrows out immediately, because I didn't ask for them.

The lady I complained to was using clay to design a life-sized sculpture of a mermaid. She painted it with water colours, somewhat like the scenery in my current avatar. She said she wanted to write some adjectives on the mermaid's back, to describe me. I said "AUTISTIC!!" and demanded that she take out the cornrows because I had sensory processing issues.

The first hair stylist came in to the second shop with a giant box of gadgets, because her salon had closed during Coronavirus. She needed a place to store them. I showed her my cornrows and asked if she put them on my hair, or the second stylist? She didn't answer but she took them out by magic. Instantly, I had smooth soft hair but it was baby blonde with a blunt cut at the ends, and a fringe. I implored "But I'm not blonde! I don't want to be blonde!" and I wanted her to change it back to normal instead of having bleached hair. She wanted me to prove that I wasn't blonde as a child.

My mother appeared and handed her a school photo from when I was 8.

The stylist realised she made a mistake but said my hair looked lovely, so I should just leave it.

Then I was trying to pay Stylist 1 or Sylist 2 but didn't know which one I was supposed to pay. I didn't want to pay either one because of my cornrows and then my white blonde hair.

I had a doozy of a dream during my afternoon quarantine nap.

I was living in an apartment on an upper floor in a really large apartment building. I heard a woman's screams from the hallway and looked outside. Some really fiendish looking man was dragging a young woman down the hall, opened the door to a storeroom, and dragged her in.

I hollered, "Don't worry. I'll help you." to the young woman. I then dashed back into my apartment and dialed 911. Eventually the 911 operator answered and tole me that she would make sure that the police arrived after they finished eating lunch.

So I ran out the door, down the hall, down the stairs, and out to my car. I then drove across town to a hardware store and bought the biggest, sharpest kitchen knife they had. I then drove back to my apartment, got out, ran up the stairs, down the hall, and stopped in front of the storeroom.

I yelled, "Don't worry. The police are on their way." The man assaulting her opened the door and tried to leave ans I stabbed him in the chest with the knife and he fell to the ground.

Then there was a commercial voiceover -- "When time is of the essence and you can't wait for the police to arrive, come to City Hardware. We have what you need."

Suddenly, two police officers ran up, grabbed me, handcuffed me, and led me down the hall saying "We saw what you did and you are going to prison for life."

The same commercial voiceover again -- "Support the City Police. We always get our man."

One of the officers turned around and told the woman, "Let us know if your father dies so we can charge this man with murder." She tried to tell them that he was not her father and that the man on the floor had assaulted her, not me.

There was some music, too. It felt kind of like a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta.

Funny enough, I had dreamt of pyramid heads... Despite never played nor watched any games lately.

It was short, in some dark apocalyptic setting of GTA SA urban-esque setting. Just dark skies with all the greens dead and charred.
Seen and watched a pyramid head chasing some soldier, heard it talking to a radio.
Then I got chased by a pyramid head. I ran at some intersecting alley between 4 houses, then got cornered by other 3 pyramid heads, one on each path with nowhere else to run.
.. No more than a moment later, I got stabbed by a pyramid head on the back. I woke up reacting for that.

Weird that I didn't felt fear or creeped out, but acted as if I had.
And that stab... I felt it across the whole left side of my back. Not painful, but tense and tingly.

It was weird, even fully knowing it is classed off as a nightmare and it supposed to evoke fear or even worry.

I was at my doctor and she had all the lights off to conserve energy. It was really peaceful. I needed some diagnostic scans but instead of going elsewhere for them, she sat me in a chair like a barber's chair which could be adjusted up and down. She pushed the "up" button and my chair shot up through a trap door in the ceiling, past a bunch of wires and ducts, and then I was in the diagnostic lab which was (conveniently) directly above.

The doctor wasn't available in the lab so I started walking around and found myself in Disneyland CA at night. Disneyland had all the lights off like my doctor did. It was pitch dark with no moon or stars, and I could only make out the faint outlines of people milling about on a warm summer night near the rides.

I bumped into a male friend of mine and we decided to go for dinner at a Disney restaurant which was also dark, but there were a few green tea candles around the tables. I remembered that I had knocked a puzzle over, and I could see the pieces on the floor but the hostess told me not to worry about it because she would sweep it up, and there was a piece missing anyway.

My friend and I went to a booth. A different couple was there before us, but they moved to a table adjacent to us and a few spots away. He and I sat side by side in the booth and there were two computer screens we could use to entertain ourselves or order food. My computer screen was still logged in from the couple who sat there before us, and it said "Jakki" on the screen. I realised the woman had been Jakki from WP. 8) I looked at her to see her "in real life", but from where she was now seated I could only see the back of her head. She was very pretty and blonde. I think she was wearing blue and white stripes? Her male companion was facing me but I don't know who he was, and I didn't introduce myself to Jakki or let her know I was Isabella.

My friend and I were laughing and having a great time trying to order red wine. I said he could choose the wine but he didn't want wine. We were trying to choose among pasta dishes and I was trying to say "Hey that was Jakki!" (regarding the blonde woman) but we were laughing so much I didn't manage. We decided we wanted to buy the Disneyland restaurant and convert it into an Autism-friendly restaurant for adults only, with dim lights and 24/7 computer screen access at the tables.

At the end of the dream we went back to my house and discovered my brother had started to renovate the damages from my floods in March (the repair is on hold). My friend was admiring the handiwork and helped me use a bubble level to ensure the cabinets were straight.

It was all strangely realistic.
