I think those nasal strips that make your nostrils wider so you can breathe easier at night are a waste of money because if your nostrils are wider then they'll get even more full of snot.

I'm sorry if that sounded gross. I just can't help thinking such things

it has been my experience that those things only scratch the surface of stuffed sinuses. what really works is a combo of OTC oxymetazoline (found in Afrin, Dristan, Vicks Sinex and similar generics), OR phenylephrine [neo-synephrine and its generics] - and a nasal steroid such as Flonase. take the OTC stuff first for a maximum of 3 days while gradually introducing the nasal steroid. your sinuses will open up. what accentuates the effect of the OTC stuff is if it is imbued with peppermint or spearmint, that seems to help the sinuses open up even more. plus it smells nice
