ah, so she's a congenital gas lighter. folks like that play a game for which the only winning move is not to play [with them].

Ok, I had to Google what a gas lighter was. Apparently it's used for lighting bbq's or a type of bong??
I had more success with googling 'gaslighter'. Yes, that's exactly what she is. I ceased playing that game with her long ago in the interest of my own sanity (what is left of it).
Gaslighter is an American term according to Google which is why I'd never heard of it. Two-faced b***h is the Aussie translation.

comes from a scary movie about a very sinister person.

The Hitler thing does sound like a symbolic version of what that neighbor lady is doing to you. Your family doesnt believe something, but you see it, but you cant prove it, and the evidence vanishes, so you look like a nutjob.

^ Yes, you're right. I hadn't had any contact with this person for a long time but I saw her out shopping 2 days ago. I've also seen a dozen images of Hitler in the past week's history lessons. It's amazing how the mind files these moments and regurgitates them in symbolic form for further inspection.

I dreamt I was at an overnight camp with several of my students. Before bed, one of them came to me and asked if he could have a special drink from the canteen to help him sleep. I go and get the drink. As I go to give it to him I realise the drink is alcoholic, the boy is only 15 and I'm supplying alcohol to a minor on a school excursion.
I don't know how to tell the boy he now can't have the drink. I can't speak. He's trying to take it from me but I won't let it go.
Next I dreamt I had 3 cats in a birdcage. I was feeding them birdseed. When I opened the door the black cat escaped. I looked everywhere and finally found it hiding in the garden. I asked, "Why did you run away?" The cat said, "you don't care about me." I said, "Of course I care about you. Don't I always feed you and keep you safe and warm?" The cat comes out of it's hiding place and crawls into my lap. I cuddle the cat.

Camping
To dream that you are camping indicates a need for relaxation and a long-deserved break. You need to be more in touch with nature and go back to a more basic and simpler life. Alternatively, it refers to your social circle and support group. You are looking for a sense of belonging, but at the same time be self-sufficient and independent.
Student
To dream that you are dealing with a student indicates that you need better understanding of something. There is some learning you need to do in order to get ahead in life.
Tranquilizer
To dream of a tranquilizer in your dream implies that you are avoiding some issue, responsibility or situation that is causing you emotional distress. You need to confront the issue and stop relying on outside help. Alternatively, the dream may be a metaphor and your ability to calm others down.
Canteen
To see or use a canteen in your dream suggests that you are looking to easily and conveniently satisfy your emotional needs. To see or eat/drink in your dream implies that you are not investing enough time to cater to your emotional well-being.
Alcohol
To dream of alcohol denotes a desire for contentment and satisfaction in the decisions that you have made. The dream may also be a metaphor for "spirits" and your need for spiritual enrichment. To dream that someone is desirous yet is not ready for an alcoholic beverage indicates that this person is in desperate need for an outlet to express himself or herself. He or she may be indirectly asking for help.
Cat
To see a cat in your dream symbolizes an independent spirit, feminine sexuality, creativity, and power. It also represents misfortune and bad luck. The dream symbol has different significance depending on whether you are a cat lover or not. The cat could indicate that someone is being deceitful or treacherous toward you. To dream that you cannot find your cat highlights your independent spirit. You need to allow yourself to be free and not let anyone or anything hold you back. To see a black cat in your dream indicates that you are experiencing some fear in using your psychic abilities and believing in your intuition. You may erroneously associate the black cat with evil, destruction, and bad luck.
Birdcage
To see a birdcage in your dream represents a loss of freedom. You are feeling locked up and unable to fully express yourself.
Birdseed
To dream of feeding cats with birdseed suggest that you are nourishing your higher, self-actualized qualities. Alternatively, it many indicate insufficient rewards for your efforts.

The thing that stood out in part A of my dream was the absolute panic I felt when I realised what I'd done. I was unable to rectify my mistake because I couldn't speak. In the end I was considering giving the boy the drink and facing the consequences because it was easier than speaking up.
What stood out in part B was how the cat's voice was my own voice. I'm wondering if I was the black cat in the cage being fed birdseed and wanting to escape.

I am loved by my family. I am unloved by myself. I neglect and self-harm myself shamelessly. I am my own 'gaslighter'.

dreamt i was in some kind of old-fashioned school classroom, the clock on the wall said 9:00. and on the other side of a wood-paneled wall i could hear a teacher sternly lecturing her students. meanwhile on my side of the wall there was no teacher, just a few of us students wondering where in the hell our teacher was. then the walls fell down and we were outside lying on the grass in the sunshine, the sky was blue with spotty clouds, no breeze, and we were searching for foil-wrapped easter eggs in the grass and sharing them amongst ourselves. i recognized the other "kids" as younger versions of my coworkers. then i was in my parents' old house only there were no recognizable family members but strangers i've never seen before, it was thanksgiving day and two young mormon missionaries dressed in their usual white shirt, black trou and black ties, were struggling to make an oven they just repaired work right, and the display on the front of it warned of a loose wire, briefly flashing the warning before showing the temperature climbing as the turkey was cooking inside. then i heard the crescendoing rising whistle like on an old camera hot-shoe flash go off, and in terror i ran and hid in the hallway and plugged my ears while wondering why the others weren't scared, then BOOM!! ! the oven exploded and showered the rest of the people in turkey and giblet parts. then i sheepishly walked back into the kitchen where the female host sweetly said to me, "well, at least you didn't cry wolf!" as I was reaching around back of the oven to unplug it. then i woke up.

I see an abandonment theme.
1)No teacher when you were anxious about their whereabouts - looking at the clock, wondering where they were, why they don't come. There is a lack of direction which others are clearly receiving.
2)Special occasions involving strangers or aquaintances instead of family members.
3)The 'cry wolf' story also involves abandonment. The boy was abandoned at the end of the story. That you were told you didn't cry wolf sounds like a rebuke to me. Like, you could have told people what was going to happen but you didn't. That would make people angry with you i.e. emotionally abandoned. Are you feeling abandoned in any way?

p.s I didn't sleep enough to dream last night.

hopefully tonight you will catch up on sleep, that usually happens to me if I slept poorly one night my body overdoes it to compensate the next time. anyways in my dream the lady who told me that was smiling and pleasant. I don't know what that means other than the fact that "being civil" papers over a lot of ill feelings. also I get the deer in the headlights thing, when I see danger I go into autopilot mode and just flee, without the presence of mind to warn others.

I may have an opportunity to sleep in class today :D
The 'pleasant' lady is quite nasty. It reminds me of things my mother would say to me growing up. She's the wolf in sheep's clothing.
I do the deer in the headlights - but I forget to run. I think your way is much better.
