I confess...
Fear of preachers and police officers are what contributed to my re-commitment to God.
I specifically fear an evangelical, Pentecostal preacher getting into my face and screaming at me. For the records, I am a Lutheran, and Lutheranism is very progressive. ELCA Lutherans ordain gay and lesbian clergy now, similar to the Episcopalians. Many other denominations don't even ordain women, regardless of sexual orientation. I don't really know the differences between ELCA and the Missouri Synod.
Most towns in Texas, outside of metro areas, are like the town from Footloose. There are three rules in such towns: no drinking, no dancing, no cussing. And I wouldn't want to be in a town like that, and that's why I fear police officers. Here in Wichita Falls (population 105,000), I fear being tased by the campus police at my school if I disagree with popular local opinion. In fact, if one of my fellow students asks what my favorite TV show is, I tell him/her that it's the 700 Club, even though it's really South Park (and thus violating my own assertion that Aspies don't lie or cheat).
And the only reason I don't watch porn is because if I do, nobody will want to date me.
I am also convinced that people who like South Park and similar shows have much higher sex drives than people who don't. That's why I have that criteria for a potential romantic partner. (I'm sure many of you were wondering why South Park is such a big deal to me when it comes to dating).
