Indeed you are right Isabella, I have not mastered the maori language. You are a ttol pro!

1 My step dad #1 worked on a nuclear power station and snuck me in when I was a kid

2 my stepdad worked for NASA

3 My stepdad tricked my mother into marrying him with false promises of servants and a mansion

#3 for Alirat.

Alas, my lie is #3. We made out a little. When she got drunk, she wanted me to please her—but now through “conventional” means. We did not consummate our romance.

Sorry Kortie - My stepdad never worked for NASA... He would have loved it though.

That's funny, Ali.
Servants and a mansion? (arrggghhhh) 8O I would run, personally!

1. My brother is an electrical engineer who has mensa IQ and undiagnosed autism.

2. My grandfather was an aeronautical engineer with Boeing Aerospace.

3. My grandfather was a mechanical engineer who started two nationally significant companies.

#2 is most likely.

You certainly have accomplished people in your family.

Nope. It's actually 1. My brother is an electrical engineer and likely has autism, but he has never been confirmed mensa.

2 is true (my grandfather who moved to California)
3 is true (my other grandfather who went missing)

During my obsessive search of ancestry I discovered:

1. A relative emigrated from Liverpool to New York City following a divorce. He vanished in NYC in 1901 and is believed to be the victim of foul play.

2. One family of relatives had 14 children in a two room home. They were wool combers who kept sheep in their home and they had no running water.

3. A relative who was a blacksmith died from drunk driving his horse and buggy. He was returning from the Otley Cattle Fair and overturned his cart in the forest of Knaresborough, leaving nine children and his wife, who was my GGG grandmother.

Sadly, 3 is true. I've read the news report. The language used is almost comical in today's standards, but it's true.

1 is also true

2 is my lie because there were 12 children, not 14. I wonder if my wool allergy is a related trauma :?:

Some parts of NYC were pretty rough in 1901.

Glad you put the answer, Isabella, as all three seemed very plausible.

1. My father was a miner

2. I have a brother who is a jeweller

3. I have jewellery that I never wear because it irritates me

feeli0,

3 is definitely true
1 and 2 are tricky, but I'll say 2 is your lie.

Thanks for joining the Wuthering Heights reading group!

Yes, I get that impression too! I have bags of ancestry info so the next time I check it I will try to convey more detail.

Oh btw Korts, are you down to read Wuthering Heights in about a month? I think you mentioned you might enjoy it.
