I have traveled all over the US. Been to Canada (just over the border) and Mexico (just over the border...ick!). US is starting to get boring. I really want to travel away from north america. (well, i do want to see Hawaii and Alaska though). I wanna see Europe and Australia.

As for foreign countries, I like Iceland, Spain, France, Italy, Brazil, and Japan.

Don't know that I can give answer to that question as the only one I have any personal experience with is the one in which I live.

Could give answer to what is favorite thing about which country.

Will say I'm partial to places with boat building heritages (ocean, river, canal), trains, good scenery, attractive architecture, and colorful food.

Decently warm weather most of the time scores bonus points.

Like I said, you don't have to go to a country for it to be your favorite.

Americaaa! F*** YEAH!! ! :P

I would definitely say Switzerland. I went to several countries in Europe on a school trip two summers ago, and that was my favorite by far. It was absolutely gorgeous; it looked like a landscape straight out of LOTR. The people there were extremely friendly, too. My friend and I talked to a very nice old couple on their way back from the grocery store who spoke perfect English and were as friendly as could be. This was definitely not the case in other countries (my friends and I gave our waitress a 50% tip in Paris because she was the only person in that whole damn city to be nice to us).

my favorite country is australia because my home is here, and when i get sick of sightseeing, i can easily just go home.

but i would like to visit alaska and antarctica. i would like to see alaska because the terrain is so exciting, and to see large 1000+ tonne sheaths of ice dropping from (iceberg calving) glacial ledges would be astounding.
such massive scales of nature i have never witnessed or heard or felt.
in antarctica, it is so utterly desolate that it would be interesting to experience the endless expanse of sterile nothingness (for a limited amount of time).

i am not interested in "culture" or other human characteristics, so i am not interested to go to india or asia or the middle east or anywhere where "culture" is the main attraction.

i like geographic aspects of places i am in in precedence to it's human history of occupation.

Iceland: Icelandic nature is just astonishing. :)

Don't care. My home is the only place I want to live at.

All countries (except USA, Canada and Russia) above Denmark. Can't stand southern, warmer places.

Asian countries mostly. China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand. European countries would be France, Portugal, Spain.

To live: Canada.

If I couldn't live in Canada, then I'd want to live in Vermont. (The only state that elects socialists.) I have lived in Canada, Hong Kong, PR China and the USA, and I am a British citizen by derivation. After all of that, though, I still think my quality of life is better here than it would be anywhere else.

To visit, on the other hand, the possibilities are endless.

My favourite country happens to be England. That's where The Kinks, Who and The Beatles are from.

Of those I've been to I'd say Denmark and France (the south only, what used to be called the Kingdom of Province) are tied, although I liked England and Spain too.

Of those I have not been to at the top of the list are the Czech Republic and Japan.

I love Japanese culture and aesthetics - but mostly ancient Japan.

From the countries I visited, I had a really great time in Belgium and Argentina.

I would like to see Alaska and some parts of Canada, as winter is my favourite season and I love snow and cold weather.
