(hey IwB, how are you?) (I was too late again but this was in reply to Spazzergasm)

Well, positive is subjective here of course but the ermine, imo and not saying I am, is a very smart mammal, witty, predatory omnivorous, ferocious when cornered (desperately).... it's been reported it attacked a german shepherd (other big dogs) in said situation and the dogs had serious injuries on their heads after the encounter and the ermine had manage to escape of course. Although quite a solitairy animal it can be as playful (funny even) as the otter, which is member of the same family.... Mustelidae.

I saw the creature once in a flash (it's very secretive) in white Winter fur more than 20 years ago and been fascinated with the little fella ever since. Oh, I saw another young marten this year but bugger, I'm not sure which one. The young of the stone marten, pine marten and the ermine all look alike from a distance. One of it's parents had killed a rabbit (RAWR.... sorry), left it lying underneath a tree and I saw the little fella investigating it. Try to sneak up towards it and zoof it was gone again.

Blah (3x), sorry.

i've had a similar experience with some ermine-like creature. it was teeny, beautiful, and viciously attacking our pitbull. it was leaping and snapping, apparently (my sister saw), and quite the brave little creature. however, it lost the fight. :(

they're really cute. :)

Good to hear you're ok, IwannaBlue. I'm ok as well, thanks. Hope you enjoy Springtime a little and as my mother always(+/-) said.... the sun is there for you to enjoy as well.

@ Spazzergasm.... bad luck for the ermine. And yeah, brave is a word I like and forgot to mention.

Btw, I'm off. A docu started (by David Attenborough) about birds.

Just Googled why...for the love of God, nobody say anything bad about Ataturk on here, or we'll never hear from Spazzergasm again.

Uh, he was great...father of his country and all that...good guy.
