Is it disgusting to eat a french fry off a restaurant table?

Last year I went to a meatball restaurant that wasn't using plates.
They were serving directly to table.
They were using papers (papers that we use in our daily lives, just the size was bigger)
So there were only papers, glasses, and things to eat
So it was not disgusting bacause of the papers.
