Aspies sure do like cats!

I miss my two cats tremendously, even though I've always been a dog person. Both of them died within about a year or so of each other, after having both reached the age of 18

I have two really abiding memories of them - Polly, the older one (who was dumber than a box of rocks, likely thanks to having been run over when she was two) developed a taste for chocolate cake and crisps in her old age. I remember having her on my lap while I was eating some crisps - I had one in my hand, and she looked up at it. Then she hooked one set of claws into one side of my sleeve, and then hooked the other set into the other side, pulled my arm down and started licking the crisp I was holding! After I thought "Thank goodness I've got sleeves on today", I thought "Wait a minute... your brain is mush, Polly - how did you work that out?!"

Molly, the younger one, was a real groupie when it came to my dogs, and I remember her tagging along with us a few times when I took Anna & Daisy for a walk across the fields. While I was watching the dogs, I'd have to cast a glance behind me every so often to check whether she was still following me, and hadn't wandered back to the house. The dogs put up with her, but she absolutely adored them... she must have been very upset when they died.

would beg to differ, they drive me battier. the shedding fur that wafts through the air and settles on any surface horizontal or vertical. the rubbing against legs further depositing that nasty fur on pantlegs which is a pain in the ankle to remove. the dander that makes my allergies go through the roof. the cat's natural tendency to interrupt what one is doing in order to receive food or warm fuzzies. having to be constantly let in and let out. the yowling of felines in season, in the night when one is trying to sleep.
now if somebody like sony were to invent a robotic feline, that would be the cat's synthetic meow.

I do like cats unless they are too near my rabbits (They are my babies!) then I chase them away. They are not meant to be in our garden anyway. There is one that pretty much lives in the place where I work sometimes. She's a white cat from the house next door. Her owners leave her alone during the day so she pops in for food drink and a cat nap! We don't know her name so I just call her 'Mr Kitty' which I said was funny because she is a girl! She nuzzles EVERYTHING in sight, licks my hands and purrs when I stroke her. She's never even tried to scratch any of us!

I am well on my way to becoming the old spinster with a dozen cats. I already have about 15. I had two spayed cats when I moved in with my mom, who also had 2 fixed older cats. SHe was always onr to feed stray and neighborhood feral cats, so a sweet little girl came up and eventually had 5 kittens in the house. One died, and the other 4 grew up with us. At the same time a totally feral cat had a baby under the house, and she grew up arounf ud, becoming very sweet and friendly over the past year. SHE had four babies under the house, and we gave away one. Three of those are still our pets. Three cats from a litter down the street have adopted us and two stay with us now too. Then our landlady brought us a two-week old abandoned kitten that we hand fed- he is my avatar, Puki.
So at one time we had Nancy, Maudy, Tina, Dixie, Little Girl, Baby Girl, Gammie, Teddy, Pichu, Feisty, Five, Tom-tom, Ollie, Kookla, Frannie, Clementine, Misty, Sunny, Willie, and Puki

I think that is 20! But over the past 6 months we lost Nancy to old age, Ollie, Little Girl and Pichu to traffic accidents, and Tom-Tom to a poisoning of some kind. We found a good home for Clementine, too.

So currently we have Maudy, Tina, Dixie, Baby Girl, Gammie, Teddy, Feisty, Five, Tom-Tom, Kookla, Frannie, Misty, Sunny, Willie, and Puki.
Gammi is totally wild- a gorgeous calico long haired cat. SHe wont let anyone touch her.

I also have a feral dog we found in the woods. She is DeeDee. She sleeps in my bed and thinks she is a cat. My cat Dixie tried to mother her when she was a puppy. She is the smartest dog I have ever had. I didn't have to deal with accidents in the house- she used the papers from day 1 (instinct to keep her poo away from her living area I guess), and when we started walking her she stopped using the papers and asked to go out in a week.

The blog is not up to date! I have a similar name to a resue organization called Catmandoo. I didnt know about them before naming the site, though.

Ironically enough, I consider myself more of a dog person. But I still like cats... just not ones that have an attitude problem (like my step-mother's evil calico.)

I work at a cat shelter every week... cleaning the cages, picking up cats from one cage and transporting them to another. And I've found that I'm no cat whisperer. And I honestly, I can't take the attitude from certain testy cats. I get personally offended if a cat gets all hissy and pissy around me . It's really not the cat's problem though... it's mine. I'm clumsy with handling them, plus I probably end up coming off as threatening from how I approach them.
