I love pit bulls (generally hate the douchebags that own them though).

Also love Roosevelt Terriers (formerly type B rat terriers).

My best pal Muggs (in my avatar) is a Roosy, and one of the smartest, most easily trained dogs I've ever known.

He has a BEAUTIFUL tail  :D

He's incredibly proud of it. When it's hot during the summers and we take him to the river, he'll lay down in it near the shore and scoot along the bottom, but he sticks his tail straight up in the air to make sure it doesn't get wet.

And if you like the way he looks, you should check out Shiloh Shepherds. They look a lot like him, except they weigh about 100lb and up (he weighs 70lb). Link.

[quote="DNForrest"]My favorite breeds:
Shiloh Shepherd
German Shepherd
Belgian Tervuren Shepherd
Siberian Husky
Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Alaskan Malamute
Czechoslovakian Wolfdog

Good list! I grew up with a Belgian; what a sweet dog! She had a lot of smarts, too...figured out early on that nothing bad happened to her if she disobeyed us and would only do commands for treats. I was devestated when she was diagnosed with liver cancer and passed on. My parents have not been able to bear the idea of another dog even though she's been gone more than a decade now.

At present, I own a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Einstein (Ein for short, like the one on Cowboy Bebop). He is my baby; I absolutly adore and indulge him. He's much better trained than our Belgian (Bonny) was, and will obey commands because he knows he should, even though he knows I won't punish him for disobeying.

I also like German Shepherds and Malamutes a lot, but haven't spent enough time with the others to judge. They are both beautiful dogs, though! I'd also add Laquenois to the list -- the other dog I had growing up was Tryst, and she was a Laquenois. They are a lot like Belgians temperament wise, but don't look much like them.

Used to have a dog that looked like that... ended up having to go due to my sister having an asthmatic attack

I particularly love salukis. I had a greyhound but I also love cats- not a good fit. my greyhound was a retired racing dog. he was perfect for me. alas, cats are also perfect for me and greyhounds can't help preying on cats.

Did anyone say hot dog yet? Oh am I really going to post such a dreadful joke? Yeah.

I like all dogs, and all animals really, but German Shepards are particularly lovely.

Wow, that's a really great mix! You can really see the Tervuren in him. So cute! I love the Belgian dogs too, especially the Malinois and Tervuren.

I like Northern Inuit dogs too. They're so pretty and wolf-like but don't have any wolf in them. :D

I think it's a good thread for this question: does anyone know how the skin of Chinese crested dogs looks like when they are already old? Because Sam, the famous three time winner of the ugly dogs contest was so wrinkled all over: http://samugliestdog.typepad.com/photos ... hills_.jpg :eew: I never found any photos of the old dogs of this breed nor the information on this.

Oh wow that it probably the freakiest dog I've ever seen.

My fav breeds are:
Staffordshire Bull Terrier (That's the breed of my lovely dog.)
English Bull Terrier
Siberian Husky

Sam looks like something that died, was buried and in turn underwent the process of exhumation after some time spent underground 8) I searched for photos of the bald species of dogs and cats when they were old on the net but none of them were so WRINKLED :eew: Why was he like that, I wonder :?

I love all dogs but I'd have to say German Shepherds and Yellow Labs are my favorites.

Siberian Huskies look the coolest in my opinion. But I'm not sure if I could handle their personalities.
