I'm here not so long time, but I can say that it wouldn't nothing else. Valoyossa is like my alter-name, even my Mum often calls me Valoyossa. And trusted people too - Valoyossa, Valoy and other forms.

Last night, I had a dream, that WP was just starting out, now in 2010. We all singed as members, using the names that we'd prefer to have, today. It was quite neat.

I would likely have the same user name... I tend to use this name often enough... the only other name I have used for anything online would be fnord14. I am not much feeling the fnord these days though, so yes, it would still be dossa.

Most likely the same which I chose registering in here 3 years ago and which I use on WP up until now. Other than this, it would have been Nitocris, Killala (not in honor of the Irish village but of Killala of the Glow) or just my own given name - Magda.

It's a boring name, my mother was so unorginal when it came to her choosing my name. She was thinking about giving me the name Oliwia which finally she didn't do, choosing Magdalena instead :? Back then Oliwia was a rare name (and so pretty due to it) while now Oliwia belongs to the top ten names given to baby girls being born now :? Generally now there's revival of old names in my country. Here: http://www.babynamefacts.com/popularnam ... ountry=POL

Julia, Wiktoria, Amelia, Weronika, Zofia and Maria - as much as 6 out of those 20 names are the names which back in the times of my childhood were the names of the women born in my grandparents' generation. Having heard those, you could be almost 100% sure that an owner of any name out of those 6 was an elderly lady (especially Wiktoria, Weronika, Zofia and Maria; Julia, Amelia Zofia and Maria were typical of the women born one generation later too). Emilia and Hanna in turn were the names typical of the women of my mother's age.

As a child and teen I used to know three girls with the Maria name and I always found it strange that their parents named them such obsolete names. One of them was my cousin, my mom's first cousin's daughter who though was known in the whole family as Maja. It wasn't until I was I guess, in my teens when I found out her name was Maria not Maja. Maja isn't short for Maria, in here it's Marysia that is short for Maria so it shouldn't be suprising that I was mistaken. I thought my cousin just had such a rare name - I never met any woman or girl of this name in person, either then or now - but now Maja according to this list is on the 4th place :?

What does your name Dossa mean? I am fascinated by names that are foreign to me. I like to write and I'm always collecting names for characters in my stories.

I like the name Magda from a story written by F. Paul Wilson titled, "The Keep". She's one of the main characters. I believe it's classified as Horror Fiction. It's a great book to read on a dark cold day or night. I liked the character Magdalena (spelling?). She's a strong woman. F. Paul Wilson is usually known for his wonderful Repairman Jack series of novels.

Maja is a beautiful name too.
