Hiya, Im quite used to problems with YouTube (thats what Im spending my time with if not on WP)....spontaniously Im thinking here is one method you can try. To me its likely it might be the problem.
Go to a specific folder in Firefox for cookies. Delete all cookies associated with YouTube. Just in case clear cache as well. Save changes, close and reboot and try again

I'll help you troubleshoot.

*Make sure FireFox is open*

First look at your taskbar.
Next, one of the icons should be volume mixer.
Right click the Volume Mixer icon and select "Open Volume Mixer"
A new window should open that shows your open programs.
Check for Firefox and make sure the volume is at max and that it is not muted.
You can tell if it is muted because the speaker will be crossed out.
Check sound on FireFox.

If the error still occurs let me know.

Misinterpreted your questions, I read it as I have no sound on FF. Just a sec.

OK.

Can I know the version of FF you are using?
It can be found under Help --> About Mozilla Firefox

Also your sound driver
Run-->type in devmgmt.msc --> Look under Sound, video and game controllers --> Choose your sound card -->Click the Driver tab --> tell me the info listed.

Yay. Good for you.

(But now my old desktop doesn't produce sound with Youtube.... well, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't . I'm not that bothered though.... my laptop works fine, Youtube/sound wise.)
