So you say Super, I hope you are right but you have got to watch out for Life, she can be very sneaky sometimes especially when you least expect it. :)

Is it? I wasn't particularly prone for accidents. Nothing beyond the normal scrapes and bruises. Nor can I say that the first borns I have known have been particularly so. Does it make a difference whether the first born is the only born or not?

Come to think of it, the only person I've actually have known who was like that, was a (first born) boy, but he must have had ADHD, he couldn't sit still at all and had no impulse control.

As far as I know I wasn't planned. But I was welcome.

I was the first girl born into the family for a long time.

My mother definitely wanted to have me.
My father, well, let's just say he was a bit reluctant about having a kid to take care of.
Obviously she won him over, otherwise I wouldn't be here right now.

How is that even possible? How long time are we talking about?

I was wanted, but I was also a surprise.

I was planned. My parents were attracted to each other in the first place because they both desperately wanted a son, albeit for different reasons. So, once they were married, they went to work, and my mom was preggers within four months. But I was so sick, and her pregnancy so difficult, that they decided that they didn't want any more kids. My mom got pregnant again when I was 2, but miscarried. After that, no more babies on doctor's orders.

However, my mom was NOT a planned baby, but she doesn't know it. Shortly before he died, my grandpa confessed that my mom was only born because the condom broke-they were poor quality in 1945. My grandparents had little money, but my grandfather told my grandmother that adoption was out of the question, that the accident was meant to be, and that they would raise my mom as if she had been planned and wanted. So they did. My grandma's parents frequently fed the family, since my grandpa was likely aspie and therefore couldn't hold down work. He finally started his own business. My mom lived in a two room shack, since for some esoteric reason my grandpa wasn't eligible for the GI Bill house buying program. But yeah, I was one generation removed from two unplanned births-my dad wasn't planned at first either.

I was planned but I think my mom regrets that decision because she did not know that I was going to have so many problems compared to others. She keeps telling me how she thought her job as a parent would be done when I tuned 18 & graduated high-school instead of still living with her & my dad at 27. I'm a burden

8O Which part of Poland are you from?
I remember one discussion with people from East (I'm from North) and they have totally different Christmas. It was a little shock for us.

Ok, I don't want to make offtop ofc.
I wasn't planned and I generally think my birth was a big mistake.

I have sth like this, but it's without presents. We put each other chocolates into shoes - at night, in secret. Or we did it before one of our dogs realised that chocolate tastes great  so we give these chocolates and we pretend they're found in shoes. It's a sweet little break, because we eat only a small chocolate from Advent Calendar every day :D

I think it's better to continue this topic in our Polish Thread. I don't like offtops.
