I would never be able to get over it if I found out that I really was adopted.

What are you talking about?

I'm saying that most of the people who adopt actually have some sleazy motive for doing so. For example:

Vanessa from Juno is a total pedophile. Seriously. Also, think about Sandra Bullock. Kit Culkin, much?

Proof? So far, you just sound paranoid and like you may have had some terrible experiences.

1. I haven't seen much of Juno, but if a someone wants a child that badly, why don't they go diddle a Cabbage Patch Kid? 8O
2. The whole thing about Sandra Bullock adopted that baby boy was obviously a publicity stunt. I wouldn't be suprised if she pushed him into showbiz like Macaulay Culkin's dad.
3. I have not been abused in any way, shape, or form, and for the last time, I'm not an adoptee.

Just because a woman wants a child that badly, doesn't mean she wants to diddle it.

I don't know much about Sandra Bullock. Sorry.

You don't have to be adopted to know someone that was abused by adoptive parents.

I don't know why you think the way you do on this subject, and frankly, I don't care. I do think you may need to admit your perception may have distorted things a bit.

The kids biological parents can be pedophiles to or they can be 13year-old crack whores. That's quiet common nowadays

Also, I think that psychological screenings are somewhat inadequate. To any versatile psychopath, it'd be easy as making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Its really a bad idea for parents to keep this information from their kids. If the parents are that insecure, they probably shouldn't adopt.

Maybe they're not so much insecure as they are concerned about how their adopted kids would react. The people I know who have adopted a kid or two always thought they'd wait until their kids were "older," but by the time their kids were "older," it was just an awkward subject to bring up out of the blue. Especially if the kids actually looked like the parents and never suspected a thing.

(And also, word on the street is one of these kids actually threw a fit and disowned his parents when he was told on his eighteenth birthday that he was adopted, so maybe it's not always a bad idea to not tell your kids they're adopted.)

You anybody, no matter how nice they appear to be on the outside, can still commit abuse on a child, right?

Makes no difference to me. People who think that family = blood don't understand what family really means.

There's this one client of my dad's. A real shady looking character. Dad told me he was planning on adopting a kid. Thing is, the guy was shady. He had unkempt hair, clothes dirty as Saddam Hussein in a spider hole, smug look on his face. I saw the guy walk into his car with a boy who looked a few years younger than me. I'd say about twelve. The guy, Jonas, lives in a house you'd swear was dropped from the sky out of a Detroit housing project. I doubt he has a job, other than being a member of a band, my dad says.
