I love really old things and people consider some of them weird. I guess the most unusual would be an old cannon ball I have from my grandpa. I use it as a door stopper.

That sounds really fascinating! Perhaps you could post pictures of it?

In my living room, there is a little school book from the 1930s. It's a family heirloom, which my grandma passed down to my mom.

As for the things in my room, I wouldn't really consider any of the things there to be unusual as much as they're simply decorative. I have a Native American dream catcher hanging above my bed (it's more of a novelty, though). I suppose that might be somewhat unusual for someone who is not Native American.

I also have a Japanese lantern hanging above my laptop. I got it from this neat store called Earthbound Trading Co.

I suppose some of my machine tools could be considered unusual in that they are fairly old; my lathe is a 1934 Southbend tool room model that came out of a hydroplane mechanic's shop, while my milling machine is a WWII vintage Van Norman horizontal. Both are still completely functional, and an absolute joy to use, especially for making more tools to use with them.

I have a few antique grooming tools that I actually use day to day, such as old fashioned double edged razors, mustache combs and other men's grooming accessories. I can't even do the math on how much I've saved on the razors alone since switching over; the blades are much sharper than any of the modern disposables and only cost pennies each.

I have a small collection of coffee grinders that I use for spices, I buy them at a local community auction for around a dollar each. I've also acquired a number of old school soda siphons from the same source for the same price, the kind with the glass bottle and the metal mesh around it seen in old slapstick comedies. They're often missing the piece that holds the co2 cartridge, but since I own a metal lathe it's a simple job to turn and thread new ones that are much more solid than the originals.

Awe! I used to have a chinchilla, they're so cute!

My weirdest possession is a box full of antique catholic relics. For anyone who doesn't know what those are, they're tiny bone fragments from saints, popes and other significant catholics housed in ornate little boxes. I also have one with a wood splinter that claims to be a piece of 'the cross'.

The only thing unusual in my house is a piece of petrified wood. I'm not even sure if it's the real thing. I need to take it to a geologist.
