My condolences to everybody who lives in a country where Aldi isn't the worst damn grocery store ever known to mankind.

It depends where you live. There's Kroger, Meijer, Target (though I find their selection to be sadly lacking and prices to be too high for my tastes), Save-a-lot, HEB (a very great store if you happen to be living near one), K-Mart and perhaps some others I forgot.

I personally don't find any store to be "evil," I look at it this way: they are out to profit, like all businesses, and like many other businesses, they have their dark side. You just hear about Wal-Mart more than the other stores. I shop at many stores, since one may not have what I'm looking for.

A former colleague of mine left to work at ALDI, since the wages were considerably higher (than minimum wage).

I tend not to shop at ALDI them much, mainly due to their inconvenient location. I often go to LIDL (their main rival in the sector) since they have a shop less than half a mile from my flat, most of their food is of ok quality, however for fresh produce I would probably go elsewhere.
