Has "pedophile" become a slang?

As it is a term with a precise meaning [ a person who has sex with pre-pubescents or desires to... ] I hope it has not become an insult just as it disapoints me to hear the word 'gay' used as an insult, or the 'n' word or the 'c' word.

And I guess the loophole is if the young child has precocious puberty and some sicko is sexually attracted to her, he isn't a pedo then unless he is sexually attracted to other kids who are prepubescent. But it's very unlikely a pedo will be sexually attracted to a precocious puberty child because that stuff turns them off.

Someone make up a word for people who are sexually attracted to precocious puberty children.


Nick is right. Strictly speaking you have to be into pre puberty children to be a pedofile.
But its still illeagle if the person you're persuing is under the age of consent even if they are past puberty. But you're right that as well- because some individuals get to puberty before others, and further- thats becoming more of an issue these days. More and more girls are starting get boobs when theyre like 8 and 9 these days for some strange reason ( maybe its the growth hormones they feed to livestock getting into the food supply). So- yes- a girl under 12 might turn heads these days because they look older than they are- which does kinda blur the line between pedofiles and nonpedofiles.

Same law here in the USA, except in some states where the age of consent is 16 or 17. There are many cases where a young couple in love will get in trouble for being intimate, if a parent of the under-age partner gets mad. Perhaps even when they might have met while both 16, and been dating since, then one turns 18 before the other. All of a sudden, it becomes a felony (major crime in a US state carrying prison time), as opposed to simple "unlawful sexual intercourse" (a misdemeanor or not a crime at all, depending on the circumstances). That's not fair in my opinion, but it's the law.

It's not like that in Louisiana. No one has a problem with an adult being with a kid unless it was rape or gay. My coworker said there was nothing he could do about the 23year-old his 14year-old daughter was dating. My neighbors went to the cops about the 19year-old their 13year-old daughter was with & they refused to do anything even thou he was getting her into trouble with drugs & other things.


I find it's like that in much of Puerto Rico as well. It isn't uncommon to see middle aged guys with younger girls over there. An american worker I knew over there was 46 at the time dating a girl on the island who was barely 19. I see no problem with older guys dating younger, so long as they are above legal age. Not that I believe 18 year olds are very mature in comparison, but if you can make the decision to smoke, vote, enter legal contracts, and join the military. If you can be held accountable for all that, you should be able to hold yourself accountable for whom you date.
