Also, when you told her your age did you say something about it possibly being a good thing that you look younger than your age or did you say it in a flat tone? If you told her your age without smiling or anything she might have thought you were offended at her poor accuracy or she might have even felt silly for saying anything, hence the blushing.

no, from what i remember i probably gave a confused look, *realised she thought i was probably <16*, gave nervous/puzzled laugh and said 'i'm 22!'. but not in the shouty way that the exclamation mark might suggest.

i remember i was at the same hairdressers years before when i was 17 and before i paid she asked how old i was, which i didnt think anything of and told her. then she looked surprised and said 'aww bless you' i realised after she must have been asking to determine if i qualified for some sort of child rate:/. got a horrible feeling she thought i was 12 hahah.

i really don't think i look that young so it was always amusing to me.

anyway....i need a haircut.

I never go to the hairdresser.

I've been twice this century.

Hairdressers are very difficult places, where you are expected to engage in large amounts of meaninglesss conversations about jobs, boyfriends, holidays, celebrities, random gossip and so on. It's like going to the pub with the girls who bullied you at school and being forced to listen them witter on randomly while they wield sharp instruments around your head. So I avoid them.

in my case its the few girls i was friends with...

I get my hair cut or trimmed every 6 months or so. My hair grows really slow so it's not really an issue. *shrug* I don't know whether I wanna chop it short again (chin-length) or continue growing it out. So I'll just let it go until I decide I guess. XD

am i the only one who doesn't even try to small talk with the hairdresser haha. i just sit, usually looking at the floor, say 'its great, thanks' and nod at the end when they hold the mirror behind you and then get out of there asap.

how rude of me lol.

last time one chatted to me she asked if i was still at school...then went bright red when i told her i was 22 and didn't say anything else to me after that.

i dont go as often as i should though cos i get anxious and it takes a while to build the courage to go sit in silence.

I can relate to all of this. I never talk to them either. Or I give one word answers if they insist on asking me questions. I used to go to this one who asked me every single time I went there what grade I was in. This was throughout my 20s.

I get my hair chopped off to about shoulder-length about once a year. I'm about due now. It's to the stage where the only way I can stand it is to wear it in a huge thick braid. It's so heavy that if I just wear a ponytail, it hurts my scalp.

I hated having my hair cut as a child because:
a] at the barbers a wooden plank was placed across the arms of the chair for me to sit on and I was always petrified it would collapse
b] the woman cutting my hair had dirty smelly hands
c] there were always other people sitting waiting, staring 8O
d] I hated having the tops of my ears bent over to cut behind them, I would be left with a cut that was so painful

I have cut my own hair now for about 30 years and I hope I am able to continue doing that until I draw my last breath.

Last two times i went to the hairdressers were because i had to get a haircut due to family events to make my appearance look better and so i look smarter when i look back at the photos.

I am aiming to start cutting or buzzing it myself. My brother's former girlfriend cut it for years then I found some gay hairdresser to do it, now I have let it get fairly unruly. I hate the cheapo places and I refuse to pay $40 for a decent haircut, even if I could stand some stranger touching me after her previous dozen customers that day.

Actually, Idk what I am going to do in college for this.
Normally, (since my aunt who lives 3 miles down the road is a beautician) I would just go to my Aunt's whenever my mom felt like i needed a new haircut.
Honestly, my hair is in buns and ponytails 90% of the time, I don't pay much attention to if it has split ends and what not.

Wish I had long hair I have to get my hair cut every six weeks it's a pain in the bahookey !

I couldn't have long hair though I once went to a fancy dress party and put on a wig and people kept telling me I looked really gay so I never dressed up again and never went to another party.

Oh woe is me my life is a travesty Lol.

I get mine cut every other month and trim my fringe in between. My hair grows very fast.

I like getting my haircut, I just don't like talking to hairdressers.

I really like haircuts; partially because of the fact that I detest when my hair is in my eyes and partially because of the fact that the people at the salon I attend practically massage your head when they wash your hair... it feels so nice. Also, I like the refreshing feeling after a haircut.

Yeah, I'm not a fan. Growing mine at the moment and it's going to get there soon.

I love the feel of people touching my hair. However, I have to have the right hairdresser, I finally find a good one. The last I had liked to touch my shoulders when given me a haircut, which I didn't like very much.

I get my hair every 6 weeks. It grows really slow, but faster in the summer.
