Thanks. It is real, and painful, but worth it. You could do it if you put your mind to it. The great thing about running is that its a sport of determination. Every day you step out to run is a day you decide to be athletic or not.

Cant argue with that :)

I hated P.E. at school because it was taken by a braindead moronic teacher called Mike Coyd.
If you weren't one of his favoured few you were a nothing.
He enjoyed nothing more than exploiting my AS failings in front of the other kids.

After leaving school I started playing badminton and found out that sport could be fun.

I never went to P.E. from year 9 onwards. I just didn't turn up to classes. At first they were all "X! Why were you not in P.E.?!" but pretty soon they realised I was never going to go and they just put up with it. I never went to registration either, so they couldn't enforce detentions.

You should tell parents that you have a heart ache after every P.E. , one who has a cardiac defect or something like that, can't be exposed to any strain

I was rotten at team sports, and all through school, I was the last one picked for anything, and whoever got me, was teased by the other team; "Ha-ha losers... You got CHARLES! Nanny nanny nanny goat!" Besides that, I was so terrified of being forced to shower with the other kids, or change in a locker room, that I got taken out of public school and put in a private school which would not require it. I honestly don't know why I felt that way (30 years ago), because I was in good shape, and had nothing to be embarrassed about in the showers, etc. I guess it's one of those unexplained panic fears.

PE was the class I hated most. I hated everything about it. I couldn't do anything right in it, either. To this day, I can't catch a ball, not even a basketball, much less play any sport. I was thrilled when in middle school, I was told I did not have to go to PE, as you could only choose two electives.

i failed P.E. in grade 10, almost failed it again in grade 11. in university i had to take two more P.E. classes. i managed an average grade in one and a low-average grade in the other (with accommodations. HOW embarrassing). i am extremely uncoordinated and not good at many types of physical activity.

i think most people barely tolerate P.E. class. even really athletic team player jock types probably have parts of the class they don't like, i think.

I had trouble at PE most years.
I tried my best but I was too clumsy to do most things properly.Just so you have an idea the last year we had to do our own group dance mine consisted on my two friends doing crazy stuff(we pretty much copied this: and in the "hard" steps I just stood there saying that they were crazy with signs. Our pe teacher thought it was quite creative and we had the highest mark in the class so I guess that living in a country were most people havent heard of ok-go has its perks.

On my last year of pe I was "the jock". The teacher didnt feel like giving classes so most of the times he gave us some hockey sticks and since my class was mainly girls that smoked too much and couldnt run properly/guys that didnt care, I was unstopable(the teacher had to limit the amount of scores I could do on each class and the half time breaks were based on how exhausted I was). It was an odd experience and while it was quite enjoyable at the start it gets boring after a couple of days.
