I was made aware of how sarcastic I can be many years ago when I was a teenager but I didn't realise back then that it was a negative trait. I try not to be sarcastic these days because I see it as a personal flaw. And yes to answer your question it is boring.

I don't mind it if it's the relatively simple, harmless stuff like:
"What kind of tape do you want?" "The sticky kind."
Or, "What do you want for dinner?" "Food." "What kind of food?" "The kind you eat." etc...
that kind of sarcasm doesn't bother me, and sometimes it can be a bit silly / funny.

But when it becomes more of the vicious, insulting, mean-spirited, hurtful variety of sarcasm that has become so popular as of late, then I absolutely loathe it.

Yeah, sarcasm was definitely invented in the 90s.

No, I never tire of it, and it's a valid form of comedy just like any other.
Well I can see why you'd diasagree. Mainly because it's your main form of expression and without it your comments would be soulless shells.

If people want to be sarcastic in a text based medium, then it's their own fault when people think they mean the opposite of what they want to convey.

I don't see anything wrong with sarcasm.. and I don't think of it as like something you learn like a joke.. it's just a personality quirk. Some sarcasm is different than others I guess, so maybe some are worse. I'm sarcastic, but that's just my personality and always has been. I've never seen daria.. I don't have cable and never have had cable.

Also I don't care much for just regular joking.. or playing tricks on people. Some harmless joking isn't so bad.

I notice that more than sarcasm.. actually I can't think of many people I've come across that have been sarcastic. Most people aren't. Most of the time sarcastic remarks are made towards something that might already be a bit silly.. all in all it's funny and pretty noticeable.

The sarcasm that really is just mean comments.. isn't sarcasm, that's just mean comments. I knew a girl like that before.. and they really weren't sarcastic remarks.. there was no sarcasm, it was just being annoyed at things and saying mean things. I don't know how to explain it, but sarcasm is something that isn't done all the time and is directed towards something.. just random mean remarks about stuff isn't sarcasm... I don't know how to explain it, but I think sometimes people say something was sarcastic when it wasn't.

Like this one guy I was friends with.. he used to say he was really sarcastic, but he really wasn't. Maybe he made a sarcastic remark a few times, but overall he really was never sarcastic. He was over the top, silly, said he could be mean or say mean things, but over all at the most he made jokes that didn't make sense and weren't funny and nothing was sarcastic. If it was, it was by accident.

I have a very hard time understanding sarcasm. A harder time than a lot of people here.
