It's that time of year again. I just transferred the items I listed at the start of this topic, plus gloves and a calculator, to my winter coat.

I used to love bringing out the winter clothes. Of course, that was back when I lived in Tennessee and didn't freeze my nether regions off during the winter. Also, my winter coats of the past always had more pocket space than the summer coats. While my current coat has the most pockets of any coat I have ever had, I have upgraded my summer coat.

Summer coat
2 nonzip hand pockets
1 zip pocket next to one of the nonzip pockets.
1 small velcro outer pocket
1 inner pocket

Winter coat
2 gigantic cargo pockets. Each has one vertically opening nonzip pocket behind it.
2 top opening nonzip hand pockets (above cargo pockets)
1 inner pocket.

I usually put my hat and gloves in the upper hand pockets, and my water bottle in the inner pocket. By the time that stuff is loaded, my winter coat has only marginally more space than my summer coat.

I prefer this time of year, coat time, because in the summer I end up carrying Hubby's stuff. His excuse is 'no pockets' so his stuff finds its way into my bag, sometimes mysteriously...oh I didn't realise I had a set of miniature screwdrivers and a packet of fuses!

my basic kit consists of:-

tissues
polo mints (spearmint)
purse
house keys
hair brush
pen
paper
book I'm reading at the moment
small bottle of water
lipsalve
phone
lucky pebble (some dreadful calamity would happen if this wasn't transported wherever I go)
