I would like to add this:

I had kind of a nervous start here due to extreme shyness, but after getting to know my fellow members and connecting with the community, I now feel a bit more comfortable posting and participating in discussions.

I would say that WP has been a mostly positive experience for me. Learned a lot about the Spectrum as well as myself. The only down side is that it's very addictive & I can easily lose track of time while browsing topics.

Overall, positive. I've found that I have more in common with others than I had originally thought, and that the differences are largely superficial.

It's only when someone else is determined to "prove" me wrong about something with an avalanche of convoluted reasoning that I get a mite testy. Then I learned that it is better to simply ignore such people and they will eventually go away ... or get themselves banned.

WP has made me more attractive, financially successful, and popular with the ladies! :D

But seriously, I'd say it's pretty positive for me. Even though I don't feel like I "fit in" any more here than elsewhere, it pleases me to know that I'm not a freak and there are others on the same wavelength.

Wavelength, yes. Amplitude, not so much.

I see myself as very different now before
finding Wrong Planet as a shy 16-year-old.

^ How so; I am interested since I also changed a lot in five years since I first knew about the site...
I can't remember what I said first time on this thread but WP alone hasn't changed me that much, however it has to a degree.

I like this place. There are many people just like me here and I don't feel like an alien or weirdo. WP helps me to accept myself as I am. I don't want to pretend someone else any more.
