I'm glad you found your dogs, but I was disappointed it wasn't one of your stories that just keeps getting stranger and stranger.

TM1,

What breed are your dogs?

I have a LabradorX and a GSP.

The adult male is half chow. The female not sure (mixed) and the puppy is their puppy.
So all I know is he is half chow. I have guessed that they might be part Labrador but I really have no idea. My mom found the half chow mix near a gas refinery she was working at about 2 years ago. The adult female a man who does work for my family
told me about and I adopted so she would have a home. The puppy came because my
mom took the $300 I gave her to get the dogs spayed/neutered and spent it on God
knows what. Oh she found a group of puppies at the refinery their mother had been run
over.

Good idea. Don't let them get away again.

Yeah I normalily keep their leash (a plastic coated steel cable) wrapped around my waist
and the hitch hooked to the line. So Where they go I go. That one time I let go and took to long to get to them. I want let that happen again.

Just looked up Chows on the net - I have never come across one. It says they have hunting instinct and like to hunt critters. I suppose they are a bit like hounds - like to run and hunt.

Lots of hair! You must spend a lot of time grooming. My LabX is ALWAYS shedding. One thing I like about the GSP is it has a low maintenance coat. They also like to keep in sight of me, so I don't have to worry about them running off.

Yeah I looked up Chows 2 years ago when he was just a pup and was acting stranger
than any dogs I ever owned. That and things people told me say they are rather hard
pet to manage.

When he was still a young puppy my mom took him and a kitten she found to work with
her and feed them both milk together. He loved cats after that I guess. It seems to be
the entire focus of his life. But on our walks he has come across racoons and armadillo's.

Glad to hear you've found your dogs. I don't like dogs much, but I'm glad you found 'em anyway...

It has been said there are 2 types of people in the world. Those that like dogs and those that like cats.

Are you a cat person? That would explain some things. - lol

Cat person, but not in a poofy way.

Unfortunately, I'm not even sure if I'll ever have a cat again.

I recently got one from the AWL shelter, but it was only just out of being a kitten, and it drove me and my mum mental. I decided (with a very heavy heart) to take her back. I was really torn up about it, and the fact that I had just come off the old antidepressants didn't help.

I had owned a cat beforehand, a beautiful old girl called Wimpy, whom I looked after after the owners couldn't take her with them. She was 13 when I got her. Last year, she started to die...

I had to get tablets for her kidneys....

Then, one afternoon, she was chased by a dog.

Her tendon snapped.

My dad took her to the vet. I couldn't go. Partly because a new episode of Doctor Who was on (I needed all the cheering up I could get), but also, I just couldn't stand to watch her die....

I left it up to the vet to deal with her body. I just couldn't associate myself with her any more.....

She was 18 or 19.....

I'm a cat person. But losing a pet is worrying for both cat and dog people just the same. Plus I don't see why my liking cats means I have to hate dogs. I quite like dogs, it's just that I like cats more. My ex-girlfriend's family have a Black Lab / Springer Spaniel cross called Bertie and he's great. I know they'd be really worried if he went missing, and I would be worried too.

I am very glad that TM1 has found his dogs.
