I'll be non-religious until a "god" starts actually "guiding" us like the "good book" says, and people stop projecting their own wants and insecurities onto their "religion" and serving it forth as the words of "god".

I'm an experimental monotheist. We believe in one god but we're looking for the error bars in that number.

Jokes aside I'm an atheist. Absolutely. I've been around online and religion is the bane of all forums, they always divide up over some tiny insult to someone else's god. It's ridiculous.

Give me any evil in the world, and I can point it towards pride.

You can point most things towards money, but some people do evil things without money in mind. If a little kid pushes another one down on a sidewalk, they aren't worried about money.... similarly, a lot of other crimes are done just to make oneself higher (pride) than another person. If there was no pride, there would be universal compromise. If there was no money, people still would fight and hurt each other for food/necessities and just to feel better about themselves.

But what makes you think the kid pushed the other kid because of pride? Or any of the other examples you've mentioned.

Are suicide bombers motivated by pride? What pride will they have after they kill themselves?

Yes. Pride of a military, pride they did something cool, pride that they didn't want to live and gave-up, pride that they killed an "enemy", I could go on.
