Snakes and aliens. I am TERRIFIED of aliens (and also a believer.) I love snakes, though. Just don't make me touch anything smaller than a python.

There's some kind of cockroach species in or around Texas that swarms. Hundreds of them. And they fly. Hundreds of big shiny brown or black cockroaches flying at night.

Eek!

Fudo trumps all i'm afraid, though a vampire ought to be more charming

Fudo is not more charming than a cold, pale, bloodsucking dead thing?
Someone seriously underestimates Fudo.

Fudo is meant to be terrible to behold.. Vampires have to suck up bu-dum-tish.
Plus they've gotta be invited in.. :)

not to say he couldn't be, just that he has no need.

Seriously though Alien still scares the bejesus out of me..

Dear Fudo, I agree about Alien, but sometimes the littler horrors get to me; ever see any T.V. Shows about bedbugs? Makes my skin crawl for the rest of the day! AND they can climb walls AND they can hide in popcorn ceilings. Then they fall on your head.

Have a nice day, Fudo, so glad you're back!

don't mean to be rude sylkat, especially since you're being so courteous, but didn't you join after I disappeared? Not that it matters too much, and I thank you for your kind words. :)
On topic, I have a few quite severe anxiety disorders so on reality AZalmost anything can scare me.. As I said to a Russian fellow I know; I have to be fairly careful about what I think to avoid nasty intrusive thoughts popping up, normally graphic and terrible violence and injury. Thus far my only defence is to try to picture a horse (no idea why) or take advantage of ADHD and try to distract myself from such things.. So tis quite hard to gauge fear because almost every waking moment and quite a lot of unconscious moments are utterly ruled by fear. Bringing shame to the namesake of fudo :/
Boohoo, enough about that but perhaps it explains my take on scariness

Dear Fudo, You had not been evicted when I first joined, but you and I had not addressed each other until now. Unlike many here, I read the older threads, and when I find a thread I like, I frequently go back to the beginning and read the whole thing. That's when I became aware of the Immovable Fudo and many admirers. I notice that there are a lot of interesting people who apparently no longer participate, which is unfortunate, I think....I like to read different many points of view.
Regarding anxiety, I've got a few intense phobias of my own; fear of heights is the very worst! Can't do anything about it, I accept that it is not fixable, only avoidable. I've had some wonderful anxiety attacks, wound up in the E.R. twice, came close to fainting once in the past year, oh well, don't mean to mope, just want you to know that there's others here who have their own personal burdens of anxiety. You are certainly not alone in this.

Again, I thank you for kind words :) and I'm more than happy to talk to courteous folk, when this rather useless phone lets me.
Being more than a little paranoid, I can't help but think that a fair few people humour me rather than "admire" but it's nice for me to talk to anyone so I don't complain..

I do still feel alone regarding anxiety but I appreciate that a lot of people suffer Im some way or other and the last thing I want to do is mope or curry sympathy.
Not to demean or diminish your own fears at all (because believe me I've heard enough ignorant people telling me "there's nothing to worry about") but for both our sakes I'm inclined to disagree with the idea that nothing can be done, that is to say; one must hold out some small hope that things could improve... Though I've only got worse for a long while now, but then I am weak... Cowardly I would say, but I'm told this is excessively critical.
But we ain't dead yet ;)

Anyway, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance and I hope you continue to find interesting topics and people here. if anyone does admire or otherwise 'like' fudo, I would ask them to welcome you and show such courtesy as they can, according to their custom. :)
And if they don't.. Send 'em to Fudo

And thank you, I get the impression you really are this gracious all the time. :)

Ghost - yes, I've never seen a ghost before and I don't want to see one.

Vampire - I don't believe in vampires

Alien - kind of because I don't trust them

Dragon - I don't believe in dragons

Witch - I'm scared of rough druggies, if they count as witches (female rough druggies, that is, and only if they are horrible to people)

Wizard - I don't believe in wizards

Wolf - oh yes, I wouldn't want to come face to face with a wolf

Tarantula - yes I don't like spiders

Snake - I like snakes

The Devil - f**k, yeah - I heard of a true story where I girl saw the devil sitting at the bottom of her bed, and was white-ish with a red aura around it, and it had curled horns and was the most ugliest thing she had ever seen

Mother in law - I don't have a mother-in-law

Your own reflection - ah! Yes, when I catch myself in the mirror I look quaint, then I worry myself because I wonder if other people view me the same then I might end up getting judged

I can’t choose between ghost, vampire and dragon.
Followed by witch and wizard, especially from the HP and Discworld universes.

I'm disappointed that werewolves and other shapeshifters aren't on the list. They're awesome too!

The scariest monsters I've heard of are the so-called 'black-eyed kids' and shadow people.

If we're talking real things then nothing scares me more than lethal diseases and serious injuries.
