maybe they just like to dress a certain way and listen to a certain kind of music.

i find it so weird that people have attributed all kinds of motivations and reasons to a certain subculture, just based on the way they dress really.

), even if I think its ridiculous. The actual creed of hipsters is what irritates me. People dressing that way are either true hipsters or are just passing through a phase. I know *a lot* of them and they are generally very predictable

yes, but you're assuming they follow or agree with that creed based on the way they dress. otherwise, how do you even identify them as "hipsters"?

Chances are if you're wearing tight girl jeans, have a beard, walk around barefoot, hate any band that has more than 20 fans, have generic "ironic" political messages emblazoned on your clothing, act obnoxious to strangers... you're a hipster

you'd have to get to know them really well to understand why they dress the way they do, for example whether it was a phase or not. but if you've already judged them negatively then you won't give them a chance. they are not another breed of human or something - they truly are no different from anyone else. people are people
