It was a great day and I'd love to all meet up again soon!

By the way Ten, you missed an hour of me staring at the Plesiosaur and boring everyone with lectures. :P

It was great though, the first of it's kind to ever be discovered (genus and species). It was also one of the most complete and best preserved plesiosaur skeletons ever found too! They managed to get a cast of the braincase too by scanning it. I was fascinated.I love Percy!
http://www.museum.manchester.ac.uk/your ... lesiosaur/

They didn't have any "Percy" merchandise in the shop (I asked if they did, they said it was a good idea but they didn't have any), but I managed to get a plesiosaur postcard with a photo of a lifesize model that was displayed above Percy's skeleton.

By the way, you asked why the Tyrannosaurus was named "Stan". It was named after the discoverer of the skeleton, and it's the second most complete Tyrannosaurus ever found!

^^ Oh dear, I do not believe that this was boring at all rabbitears. I believe that I really enjoyed listening to happy facts concerning many matters.

I am very sorry if I this was of horrible of me to specify. ^^ I believe that I enjoyed a very lovely time and this was very lovely to meet MONKEY and TenPencePiece and rabbitears. However I am very sorry that I was very horrible and not very skilled for driving.

I'm really glad you enjoyed yourself Tomasu. I was getting a little worried that I was boring people in the fossil gallery, but I was too addicted to stop. :P I'm glad you weren't bored.
I meant to ask when we were there: Did you find anything of interest about the early marine life? I noticed you were reading a lot about it in the fossil gallery. :D

And I think you were a very good driver actually. Especially as you were in a complex and busy urban road system that you were unfamiliar with, you navigated excellently and were safe too. I would not have been a fraction as good as you were. I would have gotten way too stressed and panicky and would have made all sorts of mistakes. Thanks again for the favour, we couldn't have done it without you.

By the way, I love your car!

By the way Ten, I forgot to say Happy Birthday to your mum yesterday, I meant to.

Could you give her a belated Happy Birthday message from me please, and thank your parents for me for taking you there and making me feel comfortable and included. They seemed really nice.

From perusing y'all's group portrait I have concluded that Tomasu may be indeed a wandering pixie, looks to me rather like a tall elf crossed with a Viking.
Also, Tomasu should be proud of a driving ability; some of us here cannot drive, and never will.
Ten looks like a professor.

For anyone interested, this is Percy. (Hauffiosaurus tomistomimus )

We saw him at the museum. (Well, me, Tomasu and MONKEY did anyway).

About 16 feet. It was a thing of beauty. I took a picture on my phone, but it didn't do it justice. The glass case was in the way and the light kept reflecting off of it, and I couldn't fit it all in the picture anyway, but it's nice to have the photo on my phone anyway.

I'll post it sometime.

Dear Rabbitears, So the jaws are about a foot and a half long? And it had teeth? And did it swim awfully fast?
I'm hearing the theme from 'Jaws' right now....
Can you imagine seeing that head rise slowly from the water, about thirty feet away from where you float, in your rowboat?

I'm sure it'll be alright. It looked okay on the camera. And it's something of a momento, at least.

By the way I also got a free Planet Dinosaur poster with a Spinosaurus hunting a big fish, with some dino data on the back. They were giving them away to kids in the fossil gallery.
