Anyway, my country is alright and a place to live.

I hate my country. It's crappy but certain places are nice, although they are rare.

Scotland isn't the best place in the world, but it's far from the worst. The weather's a bit temperamental, but we don't tend to get extremes or natural disasters. Some of the people are a bit nuts and can appear uneducated at times (despite the good free education system), but most wouldn't harm anyone. Despite the image of Glasgow being gangland central (that's well outdated), it really is quite safe and the police service is relatively corruption free. Unemployment is very high just now and there are a lot of empty shop units, but that's no different from many places and it is improving. Politically and economically, I'm glad I'm here rather than certain other parts of the UK.

our government, state, police suck and our laws are geared towards ensuring justice for the rich but thats true for everywhere so outside of that we have issues with racism against the owners of the land and migrants including refugees. homophobia isnt an issue in the city i live in but im not sure what the experiences of others are. the price of living is high, welfare is low, tertiary education is costly, unemployment/underemployment is high, the environment has been ravaged, women dont have the right to abortion no strings attatched, no equal pay, i could go on. despite that i still wouldnt move from here. the environment is nice, the climate is too, people arent all horrid i just have bad luck and live in a liberal party area so i meet right wingers all the time, there are loads of activist groups working for justice, the queer community in my area is strong and there are libraries. dont get me started on lebanon(dual citizenship) though(boy can i rant). the only good things i can think of for that country are historical sites, food and activist groups.

I suppose so, I just don't like the government or the society we have.

I think we are going backwards in time to the great depression. Our economy is in the toilet, murder & corruption is on the rise, quality health care is harder for people who aren't rich to get, lots want to take away women's rights, & hatred for homosexuals is on the rise

USA... As much as I complain about, and despise the current Administration, and as much as I believe we are going from bad to worse like a freight train down hill with no brakes, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. If the USA could abandon all of the current politics, and restore the way of life to be what the Constitution said it was to be, I'd be very very happy. With socialism and the destruction of the American Dream (work HARD and earn WELL), there's not a very bright future for kids today. Now in stead of work hard to get where you want to be, you just need to invent a reason you can't work, and the government will pay your way, at the expense of those who DO work hard. So now it's a double-whammy: Even those willing to work hard, won't want to bother to do so knowing that their hard earned money is going to the lazy.

It isn't perfect however overall i do like living in England.

Well, despite its problems I do enjoy living in England. Often when I think of the bad points, I realise there's a lot of good things about the country too. However, one day I do want to move to California.

There are good things and there are bad things. Like everywhere else. I don't think I care that much anymore. My family lives here. That's all that matters.

I love my country a lot and feel great national pride. We even have not only the oldest rock in the world but ee have the biggest to. We also have the oldest fossilised remains of multi-cellular life and the oldest fossilised remains of photosynthetic bacterium.
