Being shot in the stomach is said to be extremely painful. But I suppose the pain isn't as bad as the realisation that you'll be dead in some minutes.

The most painful experience I've had so far was when blood had to be taken from me, and I think they stuck the needle through some muscles near my elbow instead of into the vein they were aiming at. That arm still hurts and feels bad at times years later. A notable mention, too, for the time I fell on the ice on my chin, and the pain only started when I regained consciousness a while later with a large wound on my chin.

I can relate to the idea of childbirth being painful, though. Sometimes, even a 'number two' can cause sudden, excruciating pain.

Okay here's a general question for everybody:

What was the most physical pain you've ever experienced?

Being shot in the stomach would take hours to kill you, Unless it was a 50 caliber or some other crazy counter example

I apologise if my post was weird and aggressive. I started my response with quite a light heart, but by the end all I could think about was the multitude of times I have witnessed or read/heard of groups and individuals retelling the ordeals and hardships they have endured and almost in the same breath demanded special treatment because of it.

Who is demanding special treatment and how?

And I'm not sure if others have had the same experience, but the number of times I have heard women describing their personal journey to hell and back in order to give birth is beyond a joke, and in the same breath they usually add that men wouldn't have any idea of what that level of pain felt like.

Considering that men don't have the same equipment so they can't understand what things feel like down there, how is that unusual that they can't understand it? I wouldn't have any idea what being kicked in the balls feels like, if somebody kicked me in the crotch it would hurt but I doubt I'd fall down and throw up. Whats wrong with that?

It makes me mad because I suspect it is a theme with a common motive.

Your suspicion doesn't make it so.

If you wish to belittle others and make them feel guilty for the pain you have endured, then why not harp on about it to your children and the men that you made them with?

It's not belittling or trying to make anyone feel guilty, but if you choose to take somebody else's discussion of their labor and birthing experience and make it all about you and your possibly hurt feelings and offense, go for it. People paranoid like that doesn't mean that others are trying to make you feel bad.

I read about the freedom of choice to not put yourself into a situation where pain will be experienced, ie sticking your head in a furnace or skateboarding while being towed by a vehicle, which would imply that women have no choice in becoming pregnant. Every argument for the statement is ridiculous.

Nobody but you made that statement, have they?

Acting as if somebody is detracting from a pain that they themselves could not know due to gender when they are trying to point out that of course that isn't the worst pain in existence is ridiculous. Attempting to be a martyr because you gave birth is ridiculous.

And attempting to be taken seriously about being so offended is even more ridiculous.

Don't read it as an aggressive post. Instead of allocating Samuel L Jackson to voice my text, try allocating Morgan Freeman. I'm not yelling angrily, I'm talking rationally. Please give mankind a break.

I wouldn't exactly call it rational.

I think it kind of depends on ones perspective if there is anything more painful....and I haven't had kids nor do I plan on it. So I am kind of neutral on that and don't think there is a right or wrong answer.

Though I wonder if women typically hope that death will end their pain when child-birthing..I mean it really does come down to a matter of perspective of what someones experienced, what the haven't experienced and how they individual react to and deal with things.

For me it would probably be really bad cramps. Having a miscarriage was really bad for me.

i will never experience giving birth, so there is no reason for me to speculate how how painful it would be.

I have had broken bones from playing sports. I also fell a good distance and was immobile for a 3 or 4 weeks, well I could get around on my forearms after about a week. Electric shock isn't painful but disorienting, though I got tossed a good distance from it too. I have had puncture wounds, but find them to more of an insatiable itch than pain. I do wonder if I have an abnormally high tolerance for pain.

I had a friend or more a friend's friend who got drunk and swam in muddy water and ended up coating his lungs with it to the point nothing could be done to save him. That always seemed to be a horrible way to die.

Still, a point I wanted to make was to honor your mother this weekend, even if you don't necessarily see eye to eye or are estranged, since she did go to the pain of bringing you onto this planet and that is a choice she didn't have to make for herself.
