Those are so amazing!

When I was in school (a few decades back, before the fall of print newspapers) I discovered the library's newspaper & magazine archive that went back to 1907 (+1906 in the special collections room). I would disappear for hours.

Five years ago I was helping my dad remodel a kitchen and realized there would be a space between the corner cabinets that would not be found until the kitchen was remodeled again. Just before the countertop went on, in went a copy of each of of the city's papers for that day. Likewise, in another house I helped work on, one of the 100 year old walls now has about 100 AOL-era (ie mid-late 1990's) internet access CD's sealed in layers of plastic, waiting for someone to discover them.

I have a dead starfish, which I keep at my Dad's house. I've had it for as long as I can remember, and even he doesn't know how, when, or where we got it.

- A silver Superman ring purchased in NYC in 1994. It's been on my finger for 22 years now.

- A rectangular plaque with miniature Ethiopian musical instruments affixed to it.

- My Peace Board.

That's unusual, all right. :)
And pretty neat. To this day when I read it, I hear Quark's voice...

The molds that made em were made from actual props. I had to buy the brick separately thou. It was from a seller on eBay who sold TV & movie memorabilia.

The purpose of the Universe, as described in Kurt Vonnegut's The Sirens of Titan. It's an odd piece of metal. I keep it on my desk to remind myself to keep things in perspective.

a headphone that has a bass actuator element in it [powered by batteries] that is akin to a subwoofer for headphones. it basically makes my head shake a bit on bassy music.
